Niya started running to the direction of the carriage, that made me scared for her life
The Duke is known for being a beast in battle field, rumors has been that he was ruthless and can kill a life in just a snap
"Niya!"
I called her as loud as I can, scared to death that Niya might die at the hands of the duke
I followed Niya and tried to lift her and hide but Niya cannot be underestimate
in less that a second she got free in my arms and continue running to the Duke who just come out of the orphanage
"Hey mister!"
Yelled by Niya who's sweating after running
'Oh no!'
I'm scared for her and wanted to follow her to atleast let her run for her life while I distract the duke
But when I was about to follow her a feel like a little hand held my hand and I looked at the owner of it
"Mama where you going I'm hungwy"
That was when I remember that I cannot give or sacrifice my life anymore...
Because I have someone to protect
I took my son and place it on my arms and went at my restaurant to hide
"I'm sorry Niya"
I apologize under my breath
"But I cannot save you because my son needs me..."
And just like that Days had passed
The news about the Duke who adopted an orphan spread in the village like a wild beast
"Oh Miss lyn! Have you heard the news?"
A certain woman in her mid twenties asks
"News? What news?"
I ask not knowing what it was well you can say that I'm updated in all sorts of news however I stopped listening to it because I already has a son that I needed to take care of
"Did you heard that the duke adopted an orphan in this orphanage?"
The woman asks
"Well yes I heard it few days ago"
I replied uninterested
"Well then did you know that the duke was trying to find the woman who always help his adopted daughter?"The woman smirk thinking that Lyn doesn't know about it
"Woman?"There's only one woman who always help and feed Niya and that was me but it's already in the past and there's a possibility that Niya already hated me for not following her when she was running
"Yep! And if you want to know more... Go give me food I'm hungwyyy!"
Annalise the woman who's like a spy because of her information's well it's not like it was surprising
Anna was my first friend when I came at this village but I bet she took care of me because she knew that the duke was probably the Father Of My Son
Anna works in the information guild and she was admitted in some Village to gather information and give it to their leader for money
In their guild there was a policy that a worker cannot reveal any information unless the leader allowed
However Anna trusted me all information she gets because she knows that I was a former noble lady of a famous wealthy family
I put the food I cook on the table in front of Anna
"So what was it?"I look at her in a serious eyes as if I'm hurrying her to speak
"Okay okay fine"Anna couldn't help but to sigh
"The Duke was trying to find a woman who has... Red hair and silver eyes"
I looked at her in horror when I heard that
I wanted to speak but I couldn't that was then she spoke again
"Come to think of it..."
Anna was a quick witted person and I know she noticed it too
"Don't you have that hair and eye color?"
Said by the woman
As I was about to speak and deny that it wasn't me a certain little voice interrupt me
"Ma I want a new toy"
It was my son Johannes
And Anna who was sitting at the table froze as if she realizes something she should not
"D-dont tell me!"
