In a stupid fit of impulse, Konda Miki accidentally became friends with Arai Yuriko. In another series of impulses that soon followed after she tried to show off her wealth. Her nice cars, purses, fashion sense, and most important, food. But Arai Yuriko already seemed happy without it. Without anything, Miki had to offer. Miki grumbled to herself wanting to blame Kazuki. He already had a bunch of girls vying for his attention soon after the catalyst that was Yuriko. Why did he have to be so indecisive? Or shy about what he wanted? Couldn't he just be blunt about wanting a polyrelationship or something of that variation? She rolled her eyes. She barely even knew Kazuki and hardly registered his presence most of the time. It was a fact he had more asses than what he knew what to do with. And he was standing next to her with safety goggles on, her own set of safety goggles looking less stupid on her. She bit on her lower lip a constant grumble of Kazuki and Yuriko on her mind.

"Start the bunsen burner so we can get this over with," She snapped at Kazuki.

He seemed spaced out staring at Miki before stumbling to attention and awkwardly starting the bunsen burner. He broke two matches before the fire could start. Miki had wrapped her arms around herself staring at Kazuki with contempt. This pushed him to start the next steps of the science lab knowing he couldn't stand the silence that Miki condemned him to. He looked back at Miki as if to ask if what he was doing was correct. She rolled her eyes and nodded her head. Kazuki resumed and after a minute shifted the airflow of the bunsen before looking over his notes. He couldn't help but let his mind get distracted knowing that the bunson was on low. How could Yuriko get along with someone like Miki? Yuriko was such a sunflower compared to Miki who was like sharp ice. He furrowed his brows realizing he would have to reread his notes.

Miki watched the faint glow of the fire from the bunsen equally as distracted by her own thoughts.

It seemed Kazuki had already collected three girls for his harem whether he knew it or not. She didn't know whether to count herself. They didn't talk much and she wasn't a tsundere but something about this group project was telling her they would start meeting up more. She squinted, the only positive note about this was that she could see Yuriko more. It was a guarantee seeing as Yuriko looked more and more like the female lead. Of course, she hadn't been observing much but Kazuki's presence again reminded her. Kazuki turned the bunsen burner off with a murmur and started writing in his lab sheets, his back showing to Miki.

"How long have you known Yuriko?" Miki abruptly asked. Kazuki didn't seem to realize he was being talked to before he turned around confused. His brows furrowed behind the slight fog of his safety goggles. He bit on his cheek contemplating.

"I don't know," he shifted to his side and continued writing with a pencil in hand, half leaning against the counter.

"You don't know?" Miki tried to get at what he meant.

"I mean, I only knew her for a year or two but it was so long ago," he finished lamely before sliding his paper in her direction for her to copy.

She was rich and it was her second life so she didn't really care for one measly project but her eyes softened imperceptibly and she couldn't help but smile at the consideration. It caught Kazuki off guard a little but he didn't show it. Her subtle gentle smile led Kazuki to think more about the friendship dynamic between her and Yuriko.
