Author's POV

In the heart of a bustling Bengali household, the Roy Choudhary Haveli stood as a bastion of tradition and warmth. Within its ornate walls, Anirudh and Bondita,  found solace and joy amidst the everyday chaos. As the rain poured relentlessly outside, the couple found themselves nestled in the comfort of their cozy study, the soft glow of lamplight casting a warm ambiance.

Anirudh sat by the window, watching the raindrops cascade down the glass with a sense of nostalgia. Bondita, ever the beacon of cheerfulness, flitted about the room, her laughter echoing against the walls as she attempted to catch glimpses of the stormy sky between the heavy curtains.

"Pati babu, come join me!" Bondita called out, her eyes alight with mischief. "It's such a lovely day for an adventure!"

Anirudh chuckled at his wife's infectious enthusiasm, but he couldn't resist her charm. Rising from his seat, he joined Bondita by the window next to the window where he was sitting, wrapping his arms around her waist as they watched the rain together. In that moment, with the patter of raindrops as their soundtrack, they felt a sense of serenity wash over them.

"I have an idea," Anirudh said, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "Let's build a blanket fort, just like we used to when you were a child."

Bondita's face lit up at the suggestion, and soon they were rummaging through closets, gathering blankets and pillows to construct their cozy hideaway. In the heart of the study room, surrounded by cushions and draped in layers of fabric, their fort took shape, a sanctuary from the storm raging outside.

Once inside their makeshift fortress, Anirudh and Bondita shared stories of their childhood adventures, reminiscing about simpler times filled with laughter and innocence. As the hours passed, they lost themselves in each other's company, finding comfort in the familiarity of their love.

But as the rain continued to pour outside, a sense of restlessness crept into the air. Bondita glanced at Anirudh, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Pati babu, do you remember how we used to dance in the rain when we were young?" she asked, a playful smile tugging at her lips.

Anirudh couldn't help but laugh at the memory. "Of course, how could I forget? We would dance like nobody was watching, without a care in the world."

With a shared sense of spontaneity, Anirudh and Bondita abandoned their cozy retreat and dashed outside into the rain. The cool droplets cascaded over them, soaking their clothes and plastering their hair to their foreheads, but they cared not. In that moment, they were free, lost in the joy of the present.

Hand in hand, they twirled and spun in the rain, their laughter mingling with the sound of thunder overhead. For Anirudh and Bondita, this was a moment of pure bliss, a reminder of the simple pleasures that brought them together in the first place.

As they finally retreated back into the warmth of their home, their clothes clinging to their damp skin, Anirudh and Bondita shared a knowing smile. Though the storm still raged outside, within the walls of the Roy Choudhary Haveli, their love burned bright, a beacon of light in the darkness.

And as they curled up together by the fireplace, wrapped in each other's arms, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would always find sanctuary in the embrace of their love.

Okay..! So I know my stories are becoming shorter and shorter day by day but I felt it would be better if the stories were short and sweet.

And I wrote this story as I saw a reel on Anidita's promise to dance on every first rain and on my aahu's (AnahaRoychowdhury) suggestion...but I know this one is not as you expected but I want to make it different from the stories other authors wrote.

Bye..!
