T W E N T Y

she didn't want to be late or oversleep so her
5:00 am alarm woke her from her slumber.

she carefully rubbed her eyelids and took a deep breath. she was worried she wouldn't look good enough this early.

"my hair is brushed, up, and i'm eating."
she said to herself with cereal stuffed in her mouth.
just incase, her finger tapped on the messages with jhope to make sure they're real. nothing felt real to her, it was too perfect to be true.

she hurried to gather her larger phone
and wallet to stuff in her cotton grey sweatpants. it was already 5:45.

four minutes of non-stop running was too much exercise to do that early, but she didn't care for her health. she took it upon herself to choose which bench to sit down on and wait for him.

she texted saying she was there, just incase he forgot.
he replied with the single word 'same'. and although she wasn't fully awake yet, he still managed to make her smile lazily while viewing the dimmed sky.

new message from your hope ☀️
you have a nice smile

"you do." softly the words came from his mout beside her. the darkness of the morning and the soon to sleep stars were making her tired. "i feel like tilting, closing my eyes, and quickly falling asleep. i'm like this at
early times."

"i didn't sleep much last night because i kept thinking of you- our choreography." he said. she looked over to him and took a breath. "honestly? i fell asleep as soon as i could so it could be today and i could be here."

she laid her head on his shoulder in a daze of exhaustion. "i would say i'm sorry but i'm not."
he took her head and placed it on his lap to act like
a pillow once she slept. her small legs were
scattered across the bench and he glared at her beautiful face.

"i'm glad i make you happy.
but because i'll have to leave eventually, don't depend on me. find your own way of happiness." he moved a strand of her soft hair falling on her face. soon enough, they were both sleeping,

sometimes he wondered as to how with everything
she did, she had no fault in her action or words.
she might mess up a few times, but she seemed
perfect.
