Benjamin Barker!?

My father went to the shop as I worked. After a minute, I couldn't help but overhear.

I heard Anthony run in the shop. Daddy was very mad and stormed out.

"Get out," Mr. Todd said.

After a few seconds...

"GET OUT!"

Me and Mrs. Lovett ran to the shop.

Mr. Todd was so mad. He believed we all deserve to die. Then, something happened, he said he will never see Johanna. Johanna?

"Johanna?" I whispered.

Maybe he was thinking of another Johanna. Soon, he said his Lucy lies in ashes. Lucy?

"Lucy?"

His Lucy? Wait a minute, Benjamin Barker before my very eyes all this time the past few days! No, impossible, he's in Australia. Australia, where Johanna wanted to go.

Mrs. Lovett was hauling him up to his feet.

"Wait. Johanna, Lucy, Johanna, Lucy. No, that's impossible, Mr. Barker's supposed to be in prison in Australia."

I was shaky as I stood in front of Mr. Todd...or should I say Mr. Barker.

"Benjamin Barker!"

I sobbed in his arms.

"You came back, oh!" I wailed.

He let go, gave his razor to Mrs. Lovett, and hugged me back.

"Savannah, I knew you'd figure me out sooner or later."

"How!?"

"I escaped."

He let go.

"I'm back darling, back in business, but with a twist. Your father deserves to die by my razor to his neck. He ruined me Savannah."

"I want to help you Mr. Barker."

"My name is no longer Benjamin Barker, it's Sweeney Todd."

"When we're alone, just you and me, it's Barker. Deal?"

"Deal. Just for you."

"Mrs. Lovett?"

"Yes darling?"

"You said there was someone in the chest there."

"See for yourself."

I hesitated.

"I'm afraid to."

"Nothing's gonna pop out at you."

I walked to the chest, I opened it, there was a corpse. It took me a second to realize it was Pirelli! I gasped, covering my mouth.

"Pirelli! The man with the piss elixir!"

"He's a fraud, he crossed me, I slit his throat."

The man I used to know wasn't there anymore, it was a madman.
