"Hey, want me to apply some eyeliner?"

Before Star could deny Beatrix's offer, the redhead sat her down, grabbing her make up bag. "Sure."

While Beatrix left the room, Star managed to look around. It had surprised her when the redhead fairy had offered for the two to get ready together for the party. Apart from that study session they had shared with Riven, the two girls had never spent any time alone. And it didn't bother Star, she was grateful for the invitation and she did like Beatrix. It just seemed a bit out of the blue and couldn't help but remain guarded.

Observing her surroundings, Star had noticed that Beatrix didn't have any roommates. The room was obviously meant for more than one person, and Star couldn't help but wonder if the air fairy had requested no roommates. Many books were scattered around the room, their pages stained with time and covers dust-filled. The windows were boarded up, preventing any light entering the room apart from electric light.

Beatrix reentered the room, dark red lipstick glossed over her lips and heavy eyeliner around her own dark brown eyes. "Here we go."

Silence fell over the two teenagers as Star tried not to move as Beatrix cupped her face, softly applying eyeliner around Star's eyes. "So . . . you and Riven?"

"He's good in bed, if that's what your asking."

Star let out a surprised laugh, pressing her lips together as she blushed, averting her eyes. "No! Not at all." when Beatrix raised her eyebrows amused, Star tilted her head. "Okay, fine. I was a bit curious . . . he always brags about his, you know."

"Yeah, Riven is all bark no bite." Star found herself enjoying Beatrix's honesty, but she couldn't help the question errupt from her lips.

"Beatrix, why did you invite me over?" when Beatrix didn't answer, Star scratched the back of her neck. "I mean, not that it bothers me, I'm glad you invited me, just curious, ya know?  I mean-"

Star stopped talking when Beatrix moved her hand and continued with her eyeliner. "Just thought we would make good allies, you know. I was impressed with the control you have over your powers."
