Nana's POV

A day had gone by since Yuji passed away and his demise was literally making me feel like shit. Not only I couldn't save him, I couldn't even take down Sukuna and force him to repair his heart.

"Life really sucks sometimes..." I let out a heavy sigh and leaned back against the chair.

Right now, I was at a hospital waiting for Megumi to get discharged. The way Sukuna kicked and punched him at the end of our fight, I was shocked yet relieved that Megumi survived this. I didn't know what I would've done if Megumi faced the same outcome as Yuji after the fight; death. I probably would've gone crazy by now if that would've had happened. I lost too many people in my life. The last thing I wanted was Megumi withering away from my life as well.

"Nana..."

I looked up from the ground and saw Megumi standing in front of me with his right hand stretched out towards me, holding a soft expression on his face while I was staring at the bandages that were wrapped around his forehead and his arms.

"Let's go home." He said.

I took his hand and stood up from my seat. Neither of us let go of each other's hands as Megumi tightened his grip on my hand a bit, intertwining our fingers.

"How are you feeling now?" I asked in a soft tone.

"Physically, feeling better than yesterday... Emotionally, still feeling like shit..." He replied as we walked out of the hospital. "How about you, Nana? Are you okay?"

"I would lie if I say I'm okay 'cause I'm not." I mumbled out, looking away from him.

Megumi sighed and looked down at the ground, giving my hand a light squeeze. Megumi had always done that ever since we were little kids. Whenever I was in a bad mood or felt very sad and exhausted, he would always hold my hands in his and give them a little gentle squeeze to calm me down; a small sweet gesture of promise and reassurance that he was always with me and would never leave me alone even when the world came crashing down.

As our school campus wasn't that far away, we decided to return to our dorm by walking instead of taking any transportation.

Shortly after we reached our campus, we noticed Nobara sitting on the staircase, waiting for us at the main entrance of the dormitory. Her gaze fell on us as we walked up to her and she raised an eyebrow in confusion and amusement when she noticed our intertwined hands. Nobara's gaze made Megumi and I blush a bit and we quickly let go of each other before she could make a comment about it. I cleared my throat and flashed out a small smile at the girl.

"How are you feeling now, Nobara?" I asked.

"I'm fine right now." She replied. "I heard something really bad happened to Itadori after I was knocked out. What happened actually?"

Megumi and I looked at each other before looking back at her once again. We both also took a seat on the staircase and Megumi then started to explain Yuji's whole situation to Nobara. Megumi took the time to explain every last detail of the event, finishing it off with Yuji's last words.

"'Live a long life'?" Nobara repeated. "Doesn't mean much when you go and die yourself... Is this your first time having a partner die?"

"Yeah." I sighed and leaned against the railing of the staircase.

"First time for one my age..." Megumi replied.

"You both seem to be taking it well, considering..." Nobara noted.

"Same to you..." Megumi pointed out.

"Of course..." Nobara huffed and looked away from us. "I only knew him for about two weeks. I'm not some simple woman who breaks down bawling when a guy I barely know dies. Jeez."
