SOMETIMES EDEN COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF THERE WAS MORE TO HER EXISTENCE.

Surely there is something more than living in a castle in Volterra, Italy. Though she loved living in a luxurious home, there was something more than she was craving to see, to experience, to wonder, to feel, to live.

Quite frankly, she was getting rather bored being in the castle the whole day, and she needed a change of scenery.

So, now she was walking in the dark corridor, letting the way decide where she'll go. She hasn't explored much of the castle even though she's been here for years. She was going down the stone stairs when she noticed that someone was heading toward the dungeon when she noticed a figure passing by.

She followed it and noticed that the person was adamant about keeping their identity a secret. They were wearing a black coat, not the usual robes the members of the Volturi wear. She stayed as silent as she possibly could until the person pushed a stone which opened a hidden passageway.

Of course, this castle has many hidden passageways.

The person walks towards the passageway hastily, and Eden sets her pace, and the passageway leads...outside?

Why hasn't she known of this before? She could've snuck outside if she wanted to. They weren't allowed to leave the castle not until they needed to fulfill their appetite, which was only allowed three times a week during the night.

She looks around, seeing the dense forest empty. She walks around for a while, not bothering to look for the person who was brave enough to leave the castle without Aro's notice.

Eden was sure she had been walking for hours now. She had enough time for herself and had a change of scenery until she stumbled upon a village.

And she couldn't help but feel curious, she was now sure that the person she was following was there, but the village seemed at peace, no screaming, not a scent of blood anywhere, she was confused if the person was there, isn't their purpose of getting out of the castle was to feed?

She roamed only the burning torches that kept the village alight. The humans were asleep, but there was one hut with a light, and she felt intrigued. She hid behind a tree until she saw the figure again entering the hut, and it caught her interest.

There was an opening in the hut where Eden could see the person inside the hut. Then they brought down their cloak.

And it brought Eden to great shock.

It was Caius.

What was Caius doing here? The wheels in her head started to spin as her mind began to wonder.

Then a woman approached him, a human.

Caius pressed a lingering kiss on her forehead. Eden's mouth opened in shock. She couldn't comprehend what was unfolding before her.

The woman smiled at him warmly, and he did something that Eden thought he was never capable of.

Caius smiled.

And it was genuine too.

He had the biggest smile on his face, and it was locked in Eden's memory, and that was when she knew Aro could never look at her memories ever again. It would jeopardize everything. It would reveal Caius' secret.

She should have never followed him.

Curiosity got the best of her.

She looks back and sees how Caius looks at the human so fondly.

Goodness.

Caius was in love with a human.
