"WHAT IS IT LIKE? LOVE THAT IS?" Eden curiously asks Caius. They are in his chamber as Caius prepares himself to leave the castle and go to the village where his beloved resided.

It had been a year since Eden found out about Caius' secret, and she was helping him to leave the castle with her ability. Her vapors surround him, making him unseen in the eyes of others, and it made them quite close.

Caius' movements halted, dressed in his black coat. He ponders as he strides toward Eden's direction, sitting beside her. He then says, "I cannot precisely describe it with words. I think love cannot be described. It must be felt,"

Eden purses her lips, then says, "Do you think someone will love me?

Caius looks at her, and he nods in her direction, "You are not difficult to get used to, so yes, I rather say that someone would love you." He stands up, and he places the hood of the cloak on top of his head, covering his icy-white blonde hair.

"I'll take that answer." Eden chuckles as they exit Caius' chambers. They walked through the dark corridors and went towards the dungeons, Caius pushed the stone, and the passageway opened. Eden opened her palms as the purple vapors surrounded Caius, making him concealed.

The effects of her abilities will last until he is halfway to the village. It made Caius sneak off the castle grounds easier since the guards were in their positions in the castle's battlements, looking out for any threats from the outside.

And they separated ways.

EDEN FOUND HERSELF STARING AT A PORTRAIT OF AN ETHEREAL WOMAN with a bright smile on her face, head tilted upwards confidently, curled black hair flowing to her shoulder, eyes shining joyfully, dressed elegantly in black with intricate lace and flower patterns sewn into the gown. The portrait was painted wonderfully, showcasing the smallest of details.

"A beauty she is." A somber voice echoed behind her. Eden didn't notice anyone approaching her, too allured with the woman in the painting.

Didyme was her name.

She recalled Aro telling her that Didyme was brutally murdered in one of the attacks in the palace, leaving all devastated when Didyme took all the happiness she emitted.

Eden knows there is something more to unravel in Dydime's crucial ending. Sulpicia's surprising disdain for Aro, her husband, tells Eden that there is more to the truth of what really happened; it's only a matter of time before it's truly revealed, and someone will pay the consequences, that is, Marcus.

He's been searching for his wife's murderer for centuries, to no avail. He did not succeed in finding the culprit.

Marcus will avenge Didyme's death. Eden knows; everyone knows it.

"Indeed." Eden agreed with a slight nod of her head. She recognized that solemn voice anywhere.

Marcus.

One of Eden's greatest mentors when it comes to the wise words of an equally wise man.

Eden doesn't know how she and Marcus got along, but it was one of the relationships she treasured most.

In Marcus' opinion, Eden reminded him of his beloved, Didyme, with Eden's bright perception of the unknown and her kind nature. It was to everyone's surprise that Marcus took it upon himself to converse with Eden, a rare occurrence. Marcus never conversed with anyone after Didyme died.

"I hoped I died with her." Marcus longingly gazes at the portrait, moving beside Eden, hands clasped to his back. Eden wasn't surprised by what he said. Marcus was always straightforward, not wanting to prolong small talk.

Eden stayed silent. She didn't know what to say. She had never experienced losing someone in a painful way, not just anyone, but losing someone that one loved and cared for and connected with deeply in an unexplainable way.

"I admire a person who would risk anything to be with the person they love," Marcus comments suddenly, and Eden maintains her calm and collected posture as Marcus walks away and into his tower.

Hell. Marcus knows. Of course, he knows.

 Of course, he knows
