She kept staring at the text window the first ten minutes afraid if she'd blink she'd miss his text. After ten minutes, the disappointment began to kick in. After twenty minutes, she was beginning to feel angry. Forty minutes after her last text, the waterworks started. Wiping her nose, turning the phone off, she lied down on the pillow letting her tears drench the sheets.

This was such an exhaustive chapter to write and I don't know how some authors do it regularly 😊
I envisioned my female protagonist singing Bombay Jayashri's version of Chinnanchiru Kiliye (it's on YouTube). Check it out and thank me later when you get all overwhelmed with her rendition 😊
It's a personal favorite song of Bharathiyar for me. It's a song that can be sung to a child/ daughter as well as to a "kadhali" and the words would sit so well in either situation. Or at least that's my interpretation of the words. If you're doubtful, think about the following lines 😊

That said, I went back on forth on arriving at the decision, whether to let my male protagonist say "Mechi Unai Ooraar pugazhndhaal, maeni silurkudhadi" when he texts about her performance as a call back to the audience and her teacher praising her. I wondered if it was too soon for him to say that. Ultimately, my love for that line won over and I decided to make him say that 🤣🤣
