NAMJOON

Namjoon wasn't sore at all.

It was the easiest run he had ever done in his entire life, but he wasn't going to tell Misun that. He was even thinking about going on another run later.

I bet she's cursing my name right now, Namjoon thought with a small smile.

Unlocking the door and stepping inside, Namjoon immediately smelled the delicious aroma of bacon and eggs. Smiling, he took his shoes off and walked into the kitchen where the rest of the boys were already waiting.

Jin and Yoongi stood at the stove cooking breakfast while everyone else sat at either the island or the table. Namjoon chose to sit at the island with Jungkook, who looked like he just rolled out of bed.

"How did your run go, hyung?" Jungkook asked groggily.

"It was really fun," Namjoon replied with a smile. "I liked having Misun's company. It was a nice change."

"What? Misun went with you?" Jimin asked in surprise, raising his head from where it was resting on the dinner table. His hair stuck out in all different kinds of directions as he stared at Namjoon with a look of betrayal.

Taehyung quirked a brow at Jimin. "And you would've gone on the run if you had known she was going?"

Jimin slowly turns his head to the younger with an annoyed look as Namjoon watched the scene unfold. Those two were always bickering.

Yoongi pipes in from the stove. "I'm surprised you're still alive."

Chuckles were heard around the room as Namjoon replied with a dimpled grin, "Yeah, so am I."

"How is Misun?" Jungkook asked, a little more awake than before.

Namjoon immediately frowned as he thought back to when he had first looked at her that morning. Even though she wore a smile on her face, it was obvious that she was very, very tired. The dark circles under her eyes seemed worse than the last time they had seen her. It really concerned Namjoon.

"I want to say that she's doing well, but I'm not very sure that's true," Namjoon replied solemnly. He didn't want to lie.

Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise as he asked in a rushed tone, "What do you mean by that, hyung? Is she okay? I'll head over right now and-"

Namjoon placed his hand on Jungkook's back to calm him down. "She's okay, Kookie. I just don't think she's getting enough sleep. She has really dark circles under her eyes."

There was a moment of silence as everyone let his words sink in.

"Poor, Sunny," Hoseok murmured as he shook his head sadly. Taehyung and Jimin nodded in agreement as Jungkook stared at the island counter. Jin and Yoongi were silent as they continued to make breakfast. They all looked dejected, which made Namjoon feel worse than he already did.

He couldn't help but wonder what Misun could be going through. She never talked about her family, college, or work life. In fact, Namjoon was just now realizing that she never talked about herself at all unless they asked.

Misun always put out a bubbly, warm personality whenever she was with them. Was she actually happy or was she hiding her true feelings from them?

His thoughts were interrupted by Jin, who announced that breakfast was ready. Namjoon and Jungkook moved to the dinner table as Yoongi placed piles of bacon, eggs, and various fruits in the middle.

Jin and Yoongi sit down and moments later, the group dig into the delicious breakfast. After a few minutes of silently eating, Taehyung looks up at Jungkook with a curious gaze. "Jungkook, about what you said earlier..."

Jungkook cocks his head in confusion as he shovels a piece of bacon into his mouth. Even Namjoon was confused as to what Taehyung was getting at.

Taehyung continued without a pause, "Do you like Misun?"

Everyone froze as the words left his mouth. Namjoon quickly looked to Jungkook, who had a shocked expression and a red face. That was all Namjoon needed to see to know that it was true.

"W-well, I mean...," Jungkook stuttered until he finally sighed, looking down at his plate shyly. "Yeah, I do really like her."

Everyone grinned happily at the boy's confession, including Namjoon. I guess he should've seen it coming since all Jungkook ever did was talk about Misun.

Everyone was joyous of the news until Jungkook frowned and slumped his shoulders in defeat. Jimin, noticing his change of mood, asked him, "Why don't you look happy?"

Jungkook sighed. "She doesn't return my feelings. She only sees me as a friend."

"That doesn't mean you should give up on her!" Hoseok exclaimed.

Namjoon nodded in agreement and said, "It's okay if she doesn't return your feelings right now. Just keep caring for her like you have been and she'll start to notice."

Jungkook smiled at the boy's encouraging words. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"Aish, when did Jungkookie grow up?" Jin said jokingly.

Namjoon watched with a knowing smile as Jungkook hid his face by shoveling eggs into his mouth.

As Taehyung and Jimin continued to tease their younger brother about his crush, Namjoon watched his family continue to converse. A warmth filled his chest as he noticed that the mood had finally been lifted, and everyone was looking much happier.

Misun and Jungkook will make a great pair, Namjoon thought as he took a bite of his bacon. He looked to his left to see Jungkook talking about his time with Misun the morning after she became sick. His famous bunny smile never went away and his eyes sparkled as he spoke. The room glowed with his happiness as Namjoon continued to observe with his own smile.

For Jungkook's sake, I hope that everything works out between them.
