I'm really doing the damn thing

I'm really doing the damn thing. Fully embracing this whole tangled up with Grayson Adler, feelings on overload thing. Dinner with his family was a big deal. Like, take note, things are continuing to shift kind of thing.

The nerves I felt going into that night, of putting it all out there while we're still kind of navigating what this next step means, was a bit terrifying. But feeling Gray's hand in mine, feeling the ease and comfort of being around his family made everything so much less nerve wracking.

The truth is, I really enjoy being around his family. They're just real. They don't hold back and they seemed to welcome me with open arms, no questions asked. Which I am beyond thankful for. It's actually made sitting with them at his game feel pretty natural. And the best part? Grayson made some type of name for himself with that touchdown catch last week, gaining him a whole lot more time on the field. Seeing his parents light up at watching him is priceless.

"So," Cece leans in beside me, her shoulder gently tapping mine. "Tell me the truth. Does my brother make you wear his jersey or do you actually enjoy adding to his ego?"

I can't help but laugh, the thought of Gray ever so subtly leaving his jersey for me before his games crossing my mind.

"He hasn't had to ask," I smile back at her.

"You just knew his pride couldn't take the hit, huh? He's a fragile being."

This girl is absolutely amazing. "You know your brother well," I laugh, shaking my head. "But no, I actually kinda like wearing it."

She smiles, turning her gaze forward as the offense takes the field. To say Grayson has been kicking ass tonight would be an understatement. He's worked ridiculously hard to get some playing time, and putting on a show in the last game of the season is perfect timing to set up all to come in the next three years for him.

The thought sprinkles a bit of excitement across my chest. He's expressed so much passion about what he wants his future to look like, and football is a huge piece of it. He's got his goals set high, aiming straight for the NFL, and getting field time as a freshman is a damn good start.

I can't help but smile at the thought, at watching him with such confidence and skill out there. The way he just looks so at home, the way he fills out his uniform to damn perfection, the way my heart is on overdrive everytime I see him step onto that field... he's so freaking cute, sexy, all the damn charm in the world. He's...

Oh my gosh, I'm June.

For the first time since I've laid witness to her boy crazy ways, I actually understand. I actually can't blame her anymore for her ridiculous antics, because I'm apparently ridiculously obsessed with Grayson Adler.

As the ball flies through the air, my eyes cling to said obsession, watching as he remains one stride ahead of his defender, his hand reaching into the air and gripping the ball. He brings it to his chest, taking off like lightning as the crowd ignites.
