My Gaze On The Prize

Every breath that I take,

Every step that I take,

The fog threatens to suffocate,

Me, clouding my brain.

So much evil surrounds me,

Trying to distract me

From what matters most,

The one thing that gives me hope.

Though should I allow these wiles

To shift my sight

From my duty to the Creator,

Unto whom I should entrust every matter?

With Him by my side,

I know that I can win this fight;

The battlefield is filled with mines,

Though I tread on, with my gaze on the prize.
