The window remained closed, lock shut tight but Aizawa kept the blinds open, he could handle this much. He felt comfortable only exposed this much

The young girl sat atop her bed, flipping through a picture book that rested on the mattress, admiring the images, ignoring the words she could not read. Aizawa had left to the washroom

"I'm going to go and calm down" he told her

Switching to the next page, the book seemed to lose it's purchase on the sheets, slipping down from the bed to clatter quietly to the ground

"oh no" she mumbled, a pout adorning her lips as her outstretched hand, which attempted to grasp the book before its descent, missed. With an unamused huff she clambered off the mattress and down to the floor, intent on retrieving the beautiful storybook gifted by Hizashi

She shivered as her bare feet met the cool tiles, yet as she reached down to grab the book something else caught her attention

Bright lights painted the floors in an warm yellowy glow, large bright squares illuminated just beyond the open blinds of the window, the colour a stark contrast from the dimmer parts of the floor, which were caused due to the florescent lights that hung from the ceiling being shut off, no longer a need for the artificial illumination

"Woah" she mused, slowly inching closer to the large splotches but then suddenly a thought came to her

'Don't step on the lava!' rung in the back of her mind, the image of teetering children hopping around an invisible source of probable pain flickered in her mind

"Lava?" she queried, unsure on what to do, Aizawa had left the room so she had no one to answer her myriad of questions about the anomaly spread out along the floor

Wary she shuffled back, wanting to know what the bright shapes on the floor were. As she moved back she discovered something. Carefully she took a step forward closer to the bright zone yet not into it, then she took a step back once more

"Huh?" she whispered, the closer she got to the bright shapes the warmer she got and the farther she shuffled away the cooler it was

It really was lava wasn't it, does this mean lava is like fire she wondered. The only thing she knew of fire was that it was hot, but the shapes didn't look like fire, it didn't burn blue or red, nor did it spread and eat everything around it. This must be lava

Needing to know what was going on, she decided to conduct an 'experiment' of her own. Staring at her bed she nodded her head

Waddling over she yanked the large blanket off the mattress, letting it flop to the floor before dragging it towards the spot of intrigue. Hesitantly she began to shove it into the illuminated patches, pushing it forward from her spot in the shade. She squeezed her eyes shut, ready to hear a loud pop or gurgle but no sound emanated. Cracking open her eyes she readied to see the blanket burn to a flame but her anticipation was dulled, her expectations of the fabric sizzling and burning to a crisp were not met, it was as though nothing happened
