AS THE FIRST FEMALE F1 DRIVER in forty-six years, Selene Evangelista has been called many things: an ungrateful, selfish daughter, the underserving bitch wasting space— a spitfire.
Despite the reputation that she has built for herself (A silver-tongued woman with fiery comebacks and who takes no bullshit) which made Spitfire stick, Selene cemented herself as a top driver with her fluidity in the track. Never strays from the optimal driving line; glides through each corner; unfaltering pinpoint accuracy; analytical — a textbook example of a great driver.
So, even with everything those sexist fuckers had to say, Selene becomes the first female driver to be on the podium ( First place, baby! );the first Filipino-Korean driver to race in Formula 1 and the first female driver to win the World Championship.
(In other words, Selene is a petty bitch. And she will continue to be petty to spite every person that doubted her place in the grid.)
Her unique position sits heavy on her shoulders. As the commentators, oh so, adore to mention— she races with the weight of two nations on her shoulders as well as a symbol to future female drivers. The only driver keeping the Max Verstappen on his toes.
