𝑉𝐴𝐿𝐸𝑁𝑇𝐼𝑁𝐴 𝑊𝐴𝑆 𝐺𝐸𝑁𝑈𝐼𝑁𝐸𝐿𝑌 𝑆𝐻𝑂𝐶𝐾𝐸𝐷 to discover that Spencer seemed completely fine. After everything he had been through the last few days, he seemed unbothered. Spencer hadn't had any nightmares, he wasn't having panic attacks, he wasn't constantly obsessing over his trauma to the point he felt frozen in place, which is what happened to Valentina. She didn't in any way believe she was stronger than Spencer, but she thought he might at least react.
Valentina was currently making she and Spencer coffee when she saw Emily walking into work. She called out, "Hey, morning, Emily."
"Hey, Tina." Emily greeted. She had started calling Valentina by that nickname, which she didn't mind at all. Valentina was glad that they were becoming better friends. "Have a good weekend?"
"Yeah. No. Yes." Emily stuttered, to which Valentina furrowed her eyebrows. "I don't know how to answer that."
"I just...I don't want to get into it. It feels weird for me to talk about my personal life here, you know? I don't really know you guys all that well yet." Emily expressed. Valentina understood. She was the newest member of the team before Emily, so it took her some time to open up to her coworkers as well. "That's okay. I get that."
Valentina had finished making the coffee, so she picked up both mugs and was going to bring the drinks back to she and Spencer's desk, but Emily very suddenly spoke up, causing her to stop in her tracks. "I think I totally screwed up this date."
"Ooh, drama. Spill." Valentina took a sip of her coffee as she held Spencer's in her other hand. Emily let out a breath before she explained, "You have to understand. I'm a nerd. Like, seriously. And I can fool people for days, weeks even, but sooner or later, I blow my cover and I say something so geeky and then he doesn't respond and I lose all confidence."
