Clint pulled Cristine out of the conference room. He only let go of her hand when they were in his office. Clint directly went to check the files on his table as if he forgot Cristine was with him.

Cristine watched Clint reviewing the papers with furrowed brows. The scene at the conference hall still bothered her so she didn't dare to approach him. She sat on the sofa observing Clint.

The man still focused on reading and only the sound of papers being flipped is heard in the room. Cristine watched him silently and she couldn't help but be in awe of his handsomeness. Even in a foul mood, his attractiveness hasn't decreased. The fingers holding the papers are as delicate as his face, long and slender. He sat in an upright posture, not slouching. His pursed lips were a little pinkish, proof that he doesn't smoke. His long lashes were evident even in a far distance. The way he looked down on the paper gives him an imposing aura. His nose seemed to be more pointed on his side view.

Cristine feasted on his looks for about an hour. Looking at the time, she stood up and walked towards the table.

Cristine cleared her throat to grab the man's attention before talking, "Have you eaten? It's already 2 o'clock p.m.?"

Clint stopped what he was doing and looked at his watch. "You're hungry?", he asked.

Cristine shook her head, "No. It's just that I think you haven't eaten yet."

Clint finally looked up at her. He put down the paper he was holding and stood up. He walked in front of Cristine and felt her forehead. He frowned and said, "You are a little feverish".

Cristine removed his hands and smiled, "Don't worry about it. I feel fine. I can manage."

Clint sighed a subtle sigh before leading Cristine out of the building.

They chose to eat in a nearby restaurant. Clint didn't talk as he ate so Cristine also ate in silence. After eating only did Clint talk.

"Why did you come out here when you are still sick?", he asked.

"I was going out this evening anyway, so I decided to drop by the company while waiting for evening to come", she replied. At this moment, she couldn't help but lie. How can she say Tony asked her to? She knows Tony called her to be a flame extinguisher which she thinks is not an effective one. Cristine mocked Tony in her mind. She really doesn't understand how Tony's brain was engineered.

Clint stared at her, "Where are you going this evening?".

"I am going to meet my friends. We have some things to discuss", Cristine said with no intention of mentioning what was the matter they were going to talk about. Clint didn't ask further and just stayed silent.

The two went out of the restaurant and both went their own ways.

As the matter of the company hasn't been solved yet, Clint didn't go home for the night and was only able to go home the next day.

He took an afternoon shower and is now drying his hair. He paused when he realized how quiet the house is. He turned off the blower and went out of his room. He checked the living room, the kitchen, and the patio but no one was there. He went back upstairs but instead of going to his room he walked towards the opposite room on the hallway and knocked twice. No one responded. He knocked twice again and was met with another silence. Deducing that the girl was not in the house, he turned around to leave. After walking a few steps, he paused. He turned back to the girl's door and opened it without any hesitation.

On the bed laid the girl all covered with a blanket. Sensing that something was wrong, Clint hurriedly walked to the girl. He softly pulled the blanket that was covering the girl's head. The girl squinted but didn't open her eyes.
