She gazes into the distance, her faraway eyes the reflection of a cold abyss. "You know what's painfully real?" she tells him.

"What is it?" he asks without any hesitation.

"It's that we might stay like this forever or we might end, we simply won't sprout into something more; that we met only to pull through this tiny section of our lives. Over time, all that's left of us will fade and finally disintegrate into nothingness. Just like this—it's all gone. And neither of us will have the power to stop it."
