Jeff's smile has mostly scabbed over, and is very hardy; not much can make it hurt. However, on the first week of having it, he constantly cried his eyes out because it hurt so much. He eventually got used to the pain, then one day it disappeared all together. His smile doesn't hurt much nowadays, though when it does the pain is so intense he'll do nothing but lie in bed all day and silently cry.
