"So, you work at Dunder Mifflin?" I smile as I sip on my last drops of my coffee, finally feeling awake.

We've been talking for about a half an hour about our personal favorite things, & just learning the basics.

"Yup, & trust me it's not as exciting as you think," Jim chuckles. "Actually, we're looking for a new receptionist, our old one moved away a year ago or so, we've had so many temporary receptionists this whole year. Looking for a new job?"

I think I just found myself a new job without even trying.

"Coincidentally, I actually am! I'd love to work as reception!"

Jim snickers. "And yet here I am telling you how unexciting it is."

I laugh back. "No no I really do. That would be nice. I just got out of sales myself."

Jim's eyebrows raise. "Really? Wow. How coincidental! Where did you work? If you don't my asking."

"I was one of your guys' biggest competitors," I lean closer to him whispering, "i worked at Staples."

"Your kidding? Get outta here (l/n)! You comin' in to steal our leads?" Jim smiles.
"No I would never!" I say sarcastically.
"Oh man oh man. What have we gotten ourselves into?" He laughs. "I know you wouldn't do that."

The waitress that gave me my order comes with a fresh round of hot coffee in an old fashioned kettle.
"Refill ma'am? We're offering free refills today!" "Nice! Yes, I think I'll have another." I hold up my mug & she slowly refills it.

"Thanks!"

She nods & walks away, going around to other tables.

This time I only put a little bit of sugar and creamer in it this time.

"So, back to our chat; how'd I interview?"

"Well, we are having a walk-in interview. Just, walk on in! Here, I'll give you the address."

Jim reaches across the table & grabs a napkin that says, The Scranton Coffee Shop & Café & takes a pen out of his shirt pocket.

He writes,
1725 Slough Ave. Scranton P.A.

Jim spins the napkin & pushes it towards me.
"Here ya go, here's the address. Sorry I have to end this conversation abruptly, but I have to get going. I got some Sunday grocery shopping to do. Will you be here tomorrow?"Jim smiles, & finishing off his coffee.

"Yeah, I will. Same time too!" I smile up at him as he slowly gets up.
"Alright (y/n), nice meeting you! See you then."
"You too!" Jim gets up, & slowly walks out.

Before he walks out, he looks back, & smiles.

I smile back, & wave.

I take my time to finish my coffee, thinking over a job of a receptionist.
I need this job, I don't really have any other choice.

I look down at the address, looking over the numbers over & over again.

I shove the napkin in my pocket, & pay for my coffee.

I quickly walk out, hop in my car, & drive home.

I have to get ready for an interview.
