Breaking again (Jacob Black)

Chapter Five

May 2006

"You know you're the only reason I tolerate it here. I hate this place, I hate this whole situation, this curse"

I sighed as I scooted next to Leah, we were on first beach with the guys but she was having a hard time. Ever since she had phased and joined the pack she wasn't handling it well. Jacob found her in the woods a few days after she first phased and helped her change back. We buried Uncle Harry the following day but she didn't come to the funeral, she blamed herself for his heart attack and couldn't bare to be near anybody. Helping Leah to grieve and come to terms with what was happening brought Jacob and I closer together, i had accepted the bond we now shared and although it took a lot of grovelling on his part we got back together

*Flashback"*

"How is she doing today?"

Jacob asked as he came to sit beside me on Emily's front porch, We had buried uncle Harry the day before and Leah wasn't taking it very well.

"She won't talk, she just clung to me until she fell asleep"

He was sitting so close his leg was pressed to mine and as much as I wanted to deny it I couldn't help feel a pull towards him

"Hey uh I was wondering maybe if you want to I could take you out for dinner, I mean you don't have to I just thought I could-"

I pressed my hand to his mouth to stop him talking, It was actually adorable watching him get all nervous trying to ask me out

"Okay, you can take me out to dinner just stop rambling"

I giggled as I pulled my hand away from his mouth which then stretched into a huge smile

"Awesome uh I'll pick you up at 7 okay"

*flashback end*

"I know Lee, I'm sorry you have to be a part of all this. It can't be easy"

Joining the pack was one thing but then finding out about pack mind and imprinting made things harder for her. The fact that she had to hear Sams thoughts about how much he loved Emily and how sorry he felt for leaving her was turning her into a venomous bitch to be completely honest.

"At least I have you. At least there's one person here that doesn't completely get on my nerves"

I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off when Sam and Jacob came jogging through the trees

"Leah you and Paul are on patrol"

Sams voice boomed across the front yard. Leah simply scowled and got to her feet before phasing and taking off into the forest as fast as she could, her clothes shredding around her.

"Hey Nat want to head back to my house?"

Jacob asked as he pecked me on the lips, every day I could feel our bond growing stronger and I was finally getting over him leaving me for Bella who he was currently not speaking to. After her selfish attempt to cliff dive Jacob took her home to find Alice Cullen waiting for her then the two ran off to Italy to save Edward from killing himself. It still freaked me out that they were vampires and the whole time Bella knew, the girl had serious issues if you ask me.

"I missed you today"

Jacob sighed as we climbed into his car, he always looked hilarious when he drove the rabbit considering he was big and the car was so small. I pressed a quick kiss to his cheek and settled back in to my seat

"I missed you too Jake"

The journey to Jakes house was short and just as we got out of the car a distant howl echoed through the trees grabbing our attention.
