elle's POV

"billie! billie! billie!" i shout excitedly as i run up to my room. "i know you're sick and i just said for you to go to sleep like three hours ago but i finished! i finished the novel" i smile widely and jump up and down. "i'm so proud of you" she tells me groggily due to me waking her up. "whenever you feel like it, i want you to be the first to read it" i explain, sitting down next to her. "i can't wait to read it, but right now i'd like to get some more sleep" she laughs a little. "absolutely" i nod. i start to get up but she grabs my arm and pulls me back down. "seriously elle, i'm so proud of you" she repeats and kisses me. "thank you love, now you know how i feel when i hear a new song of yours" i thank her and hug her. "i love you" she says and pecks our lips together again. "i love you too, now get some sleep" i tell her and walk out. 

"i'm really proud of you for finishing your novel elle" mum says with a big smile as i walk into the kitchen. "thank you mum" i respond with the same smile. she holds her arms open and i hug her, feeling her arms wrap around me tightly. "so, so proud" she whispers and rubs my back. 

my whole family was definitely the biggest motivation for me, including billie. their support is what got me through months and months of writing.

after a few minutes of going over the novel, i hear my phone ring. i pick it up from beside me and answer it. "cathy! it's fantastic to hear from you, how've you been" i greet her. "i've been great thank you. i just wanted to call and ask how the novel is going" she explains. "it's funny you say that, i just finished it" i giggle. "really? that's amazing! i'd love to give it a read if you'd send it to me" she congratulates me. "absolutely. i promised my girlfriend i'd have her read it first, but right as she finishes it i'll send it to you" i tell her. "alright, i can't wait. so proud of you darling! i gotta go but we'll talk soon" she says happily. "talk soon" i respond and hang up.

cathy works at the place that published my last novel. she's like that sweet aunt that everyone has that is very supportive and such. she's the nicest lady, she gets along with everyone so well. i love her.

after a few hours of editing i feel arms around my waist and a chin on my shoulder. "look at you, all professional and shit" billie giggles as she hugs me. "bil, i told you to stay in bed" i groan and turn around. "i just wanted to come see how you're doing" she defends. "are you ready to read it?" i ask. "absolutely" she nods. i hand her my laptop and she sits down on the couch. "don't watch me" she tells me. "ugh, fine. i'll be in the living room" i laugh and walk out. 

billie is actually quite a fast reader. that novel was over 300 pages and she finished it in like 3 and a half hours. "that was.... so fucking amazing" she says with a look of shock on her face. "why do you look so shocked?" i laugh. "no reason, the ending was just so surprising" she explains. "i know, i didn't really mean for it to go there to be honest" i tell her, making her laugh. "i gotta send it to cathy, let me see my computer" i order. she hands me my computer and i share it with cathy. i shut it and we walk up to my room. 

"i'm so fucking proud of you. i hope you know that" billie tells me as she runs her fingers through my hair. we're laying in my bed and watching a movie right now. "thank you beautiful." i say with a smile. "i never thought i'd finish that" i laugh. "now you know how i felt about my album" she giggles. "i'm so glad you're here billie. you really motivated me to finish that" i explain. "aw, i'm glad i'm here too" she smiles and kisses my forehead.
