Ethan and I walk into my moms house.
They are having a massive Christmas party with literally everyone, and I mean everyone around.
I throw max a ball and he chases after it.
I can't really give his treats because of his training so he knows when he's off duty when he gets a ball or Ella.
"Hey mom" I say
"Hey honey! Your early" she says
"Yeah well... I guess we are" I say as we walk into the living room
"Would you like a drink?" She asks and I shake my head
"I'm alright for now" I say
"So am I, thank you though" Ethan says
"Well everyone's coming over in the next half hour so just help yourself to crisps and stuff" she says and i nod as we sit down on the sofa
"So how are things mom?" I ask her
"Good, works given me two weeks off for the holidays so I'm loving life" she says and I laugh
Imagine having a year off.
"Where is everyone?" Ethan asks
"Upstairs getting ready" my mum says
"Max" i shout and he comes running into the living room and sits infront of me
"Do you want Ella?" I ask him and he barks and wags his tail
"I'm sorry what was that?" I ask and he barks again
"Okay then" I say and I grab Elle from my bag and give it to him and he lies down by my feet.
"That's him settled for a few hours" Ethan says and I laugh
"Definitely" I say
"Jane is here with Jenny" I hear Oliver call
Jenny is Ethans sister.
"Oh my baby! I've not seen you in ages!" Jane gushes over Ethan and I stand up and hug his sister
"Hi Eden, how are you?" She asks
"I'm good thank you, you?" I ask
"I'm great, oh my god is this your dog?" She asks and I nod and she bends down
"Wait" i say and she looks at me
"What?" She asks
"Just one second cause he might feel threatened because of Ella" I say
"Max give me Ella" I say and he growls slightly
"Now" i say and he picks it up and gives it to my hand
"Thank you" i say scratching his head and his sits down
"This is Max" I tell Jenny
"Hey max" she says
Max looks up at me and i nod and he rushes up to her.
"God my baby is well trained" I say proudly
Ethan scoffs, "not well enough to stay away from my sandwich"
"Are you still pissed about that?" I ask him and he crosses his arms, "let it go"
"Nope" he says
"Eden!" Casey shouts rushing up to me and she hugs me
"Hey Casey, how are you?" I ask her
"I'm great!" She says grinning, "I have Zac a hair cut"
"What?" Ethan asks shocked
"Oh my god" I mumble
"Zac!" I shout
"I'm not coming down!" He shouts to me and I roll my eyes
"Do you want me to bring you a bag to put over your head?" I shout
"Yes!" He snaps
I laugh and head into the kitchen and grab a paper bag.
I feel Max follow me and I look at him, "right Ella"
"Go to Ethan" I say and he rushes over to him
"Ethan" I call and he looks over to me, "give him Ella please"
He nods and I head upstairs and open zacs door to see him with half of his head shaved and my jaw falls open.
"I swear to god Eden if you tell anyone about this I'll kill you" he snaps and I smirk
"Okay" i say handing him the bag before leaving and I head back downstairs
"How bad is it?" Nate asks
"It's bad, very very bad" I say
"What the?" I hear my mom asks and we all turn to see Zac with two eye holes cut of of the mask
"If anyone says anything you'll regret it" he says
"It's cute how he thinks he's threatening" I tell Ethan and he laughs

It's now ten o'clock as were all sat down eating food and Max is creating a swimming pool of drool as he's going around everyone begging for food.
A lot more people are here now, all my family is here and friends from school.
I look over to my mom about to give him some food, "no!" I shout and everyone flinches
"You can't give him anything" I say
"Why not?" Mia asks me
"Because he's not meant to have that as a treat, he eats when he's suppost to eat and his treat is playing with a ball" I say
"Why?" Ray asks me
"Just his training, the more I let him get away with things the more likely it is for there to be a mistake when we're in the field" I say
"That's interesting, where does he sleep?" Mia asks me
"He's meant to sleep outside in a kennel, but since I'm not living here he sleeps in his bed at the apartment" I say
"What's going on between you two?" Nate asks
"Yeah your dating aren't you?" Casey asks
"Yeah" Ethan and I say at the same time and the girls squeal and I chuckle
"So your mom and I have been talking" my mom begins and Ethan and I look at our moms sat next to each other
"We're thinking of booking a little cottage in January to go away somewhere nice, just a little break" my mom says
I look at Ethan and he looks at me, "when in January?" I ask
"The first week, just for a weekend" Jane says
Ah shit.
"Should I tell them?" He asks me lowly and i nod
He sighs, "I can't"
"You can't? Why not?" Jane asks
"I've been called out for a mission, the first weekend of January" he says and the whole room goes silent.
This isn't good.
