𝐀 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐘 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 brown hair and hazel eyes stood on a podium, his gaze focused on the island that was across the sea. His mind continued to wander from subject to subject, from meeting to meeting, from task to task. His father had warned him about this. He warned him about how once he becomes king his whole life will be flipped upside down once he says 'I do' to Fairy Godmother's questions at his Coronation. But there was one thought that was louder than the rest: his proclamation.

He had to tell his parents the news today and the mere thought of it terrified him. He already knew that the Guardian of Auradon and Nakoa—the future Captain of the Auradon Guard—were backing him up on this idea and had his back no matter what. However, it was still terrifying, he didn't want to disappoint his parents or face rejection of his idea.

The words he needed to say kept repeating in his head, almost as if they were playing on loop, but whenever he tried speaking any of them his brain would fumble and his mouth wouldn't open. His hands felt sweaty as he thought about how his parents were going to walk into the room at any minute now and offer him a big smile. His father was probably going to joke about how young he is to become king and his mother would disagree. He thought about how their smiles would most likely fade once he told him about his proclamation and the disappointment in his father's eyes once he revealed who he was trying to bring over to Auradon.

"Dude, don't be nervous," Nakoa spoke up from where he was sitting, a small smirk on his face as he looked up from the book he was reading.

Ben let out a sigh as he glanced over at Nakoa before looking back out the window as he allowed his tailor to do whatever he pleased to finish the fitting for his suit. "I'm not—" Ben paused as he licked his lips slightly, "I'm not nervous."

Nakoa let out a small chuckle as he shook his head slightly after listening to the tone of his friend's voice. Ben was always a horrible liar and he was also horrible at covering up the signs that he was nervous; like always being fidgety. Nakoa grew up with the young prince despite the fact that he was a year older than him. Both of them managed to bound over the responsibilities of following their father's footsteps and being just as good—if not better—as them.

"How is it possible that you're going to be crowned king next month?" A third voice asked as they walked into the room. Ben and Nakoa turned their heads to the new voice. A small smile appeared on the younger boy's face as he saw his father, mother and Guardian of Auradon walk into the room. "You're just a baby!" Beast added a bright smile on the man's face once he was close enough to his son. Beast's and Belle's arms were linked as Genie trailed slightly behind them, a small smile on his face, an attempt to encourage Ben for what he was about to say.

"He's turning sixteen, dear," Belle said with a smile as she placed her opposite hand on Beast's forearm.

Genie walked over to where Nakoa was sitting and took a seat on the loveseat across from him. He took off his shoes and kicked his feet on the opposite side of the loveseat, allowing him to lay down with his head resting on his hands. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Zeus, he missed sleeping. Ever since Ben came to him about this whole proclamation idea, sleep has been a stranger to him, but then again, he never really slept before anyway.
