Here's an example I created. Feel free to use this however you want. No credit needed.
Step One - Give them a personality.
Surface Level Personality: not emotionally expressive and tends to suppress strong emotions, stoic demeanor, the kind of person that seems to have a lot of walls up, secretive vibe
Content State: mellow and nonchalant, composed overall, calm, still keeps to himself mostly
Upset State: very anxious and distrustful of the people around him, gets overwhelmed, turns reclusive and attacks anyone that chases him
How They're Perceived: he's simply viewed as 'the quiet guy' that no one knows much about, they've never seen him do anything wrong per say but they still don't trust him very much, people are intimidated by him and wouldn't want to counter him
How They Feel About Their Perception: he likes that he's hard to read and how apprehensive people are of him, makes him feel in power since others are walking on eggshells around him
Step Two - Discern the trigger of obsession and desire.
Trigger Of Obsession: his love interest enters the environment and they're the kind of person that seizes victory no matter the costs and is ruthless and ambitious in their nature, his love interest has a similar effect on people that he does, seeing this kind of personality launches him into desire and he believes they'd fit well together like a king and queen
Trigger Clarification: he's a very observant person and the love interest stands out in their environment, he can't help but be drawn to the love interest
Their Perspective Of Trigger: he hasn't wanted something in a long time but the love interest is somethi- someone he wants, it's his goal to acquire his love interest and until then he won't be content
Step Three - Form the dynamic between your yandere and their love interest.
How They Feel About Their Love Interest: it quickly festers into a "If I can't have you, no one can." decision, if this fails he doesn't want to have to harbor the negative feelings that come with it so he will be prompted to get rid of the love interest, similar to his emotional suppression he doesn't want anything having to do with the loss to be acknowledged or even exist
How They Act In Public: very possessive and protective, quick to leave and take love interest with him if he feels like others are getting too invested in their relationship, constantly looming around the love interest, often whispering things in his love interest's ear
How They Act In Private: has a steady level of emotional and romantic expression, he always says how happy he is and how perfect he feels they are together, tends to discuss the things he wants for their future together
How They Act When In Control: he makes sure to guilt trip the love interest whenever they get distant by sulking and feigning a deep depression, otherwise when his love interest returns he wants to remind them how happy they make him
How They Act When Out Of Control: his act becomes real and he genuinely starts fearing the future, he then goes into an overt optimism and hopes his love interest will believe it
Step Four - Establish your yandere's limits...and their actual limits.
Hinged Limits With Love Interest: like flipping a switch he will become completely closed off, no longer opening up to his love interest, love interest may no longer feel special due to this behavior
Hinged Limits With Others: he will use material means to get others to act the way he wants i.e. providing them with financial opportunities for their compliance, bribing, sabotaging their stability
Unhinged Limits With Love Interest: as a last resort he will kidnap his love interest and keep them captive, the love interest will be at his mercy and his grace, his patience has run thin and now he will forcefully get what he wants when he wants, he's quick to punish and torture his love interest for their disobedience
Unhinged Limits With Others: he's still not fond of causing too much chaos so he will raise the stakes in his manipulation and go to further extents
Step Five - Declare the end of your yandere.
End: once he has full power over his love interest and they've been broken down into a devoted, brainless servant for him he will lose interest, the more the love interest begs for him and chases after him the more bothered he gets and he would not be reluctant to permanently getting rid of the bother
