Y/N's POV
About twelve years later

"Y/N, I really don't like this." Stan said as watched me pack things into my canvas back pack.

I rolled my eyes. "Stan, Teddy is at school and I am perfectly capable of going out into the forest on my own."  I quipped as I attached a scabbard to my belt.

"... do you seriously have a sword?"

  "A short sword!"

"Where the hell did you get it

"Where the hell did you get it."  He scowled and crossed his arms.

"I got it at a renaissance fair on our way to Gravity Falls."  I said nonchalantly.

"Really?"  He asked incredulously.  "I would've thought you have found it an a troll cave or something."

I raised an eyebrow.  "Not everything needs to have a supernatural explanation or history, Stan."

  "Eh.  Fair enough."

I sigh as I focused my attention onto him. "Look... even though Ford and I researched Gravity Falls for about six or seven years, I know that there's more things out in those woods. There has to be. I intend to find out as much as I can while I'm still somewhat young." I grabbed my own journal and gently placed it into the backpack.

Stan shook his head. "You and Ford are too much alike for your own good, you know that?"

I slung my pack over my shoulder. "The difference between my husband and I is that I know better than to mess with forces beyond my control." I grumbled as I made my way up the stairs, Stan slowly following me. I turned around to face him. "I'll be back before Teddy comes home from school." I opened the front door and jogged off into the woods, not bothering to look back behind me.

As soon as I saw something move in front of me, I immediately crouched and took out my journal and a pen. When I peeked into my binoculars, I saw the movement from before appeared to be human, but something about them seemed... off.
