Monster under our bed

The crickets chirp when it gets dark

I get on the bed before the dogs bark

Every night I shiver when I hear the silence

It feels like the ghosts are getting an alliance

My lips shiver from the freezing air

I wrap my blanket around with care

It feels like someone is giving me a stare

When I take out the blanket, no one is there

As the night pass I hear the clock ticking

the light outside feels like it's blinking

I try to stay still in hope that the unknown doesn't get me

But despite my efforts it doesn't hide under a tree

The room fills up with sunlight

And I realize it is over

But there was no sign of fight

I was sure it was waiting to takeover

To be sure I check under my bed

but no one was there

where did it go

I was sure it was somewhere there

I look and look until I hurt my hip joint

Maybe it went to another location

but at last I realize there was no point

As the monster was only a pigment of my imagination
