Shah Zain's POV (Edited)

I stood there rooted on my spot. I was still contemplating everything. The arrival of Shiza was totally unexpected. I never even thought in a million years that she will come here and that too with lunch. When she entered inside, I was confused and shocked both at the same time.

I didn't unnoticed the way her face fell when she saw Zarnish already there. Well, Zarnish did come early. She brought food for me saying she has made it herself. Although, I was in no mood for eating but since she brought with so much hope, I decided to sit down and eat. But my eating plan went out of the window when Shiza came here.

She was holding the lunch box in her hands and she was even dressed. I don't think we share such a relationship that she thought off coming here. But still when I saw the hurt in her eyes, my insides churn. I felt bad the way she apologized and left without even protesting. Like she knew that I will not eat her food now that Zarnish had brought already. Her eyes almost went moist but she was a woman of control.

She controlled herself and left shortly. I didn't fail to notice the way she took deep breaths to calm herself down. She was trying her best not to break down atleast infront of me. I knew her damn well. But she can't be blaming me. I was least expecting her. She was the last person I thought that would come unannounced. I sighed heavily and Zarnish's voice reached my ears

"Are you ok?"

I came out of my wonderland and only then I realized that she was still there. Zarnish had not left. She had left. I nodded my head before slumping down on the chair. I took a deep breath before asking her

"Do you know she was coming here?"

At my question, she shifted in her seat. She remained quite for few moments before saying

"No, I didn't know she was coming."

She said it all in one breath and it made a little bit suspicious. But why would Zarnish lie to me? She never lies atleast with me. She is always honest with me. I knew her insides out. I sighed and looked at the food. I have no appetite left now. Shiza's face was coming infront of me again and again and it was getting difficult for me to handle it. I looked up at Zarnish before telling her

"I think you should leave now. My break is almost over and I need to head out for a meeting."

She nodded her head before standing up. She packed all the things and made her way to the door. But she stopped in her tracks and stated

"I hope you're not thinking about her. I don't think she matters to you that enough."

Her words were sharp and edgy. Like she doesn't like me thinking about my...wife. Well, I chose to remain silent on her statement. I busied myself in the file and expect her to leave seeing me working. I heard her taking a long and deep breath before I heard the opening and closing of the door. I looked up and saw that she has already left. I leaned back on my seat before closing my eyes thinking about her. What are you doing to me, Shiza?"
