Creek paled, setting Branch down next to her, "Poppy, watch Branch, I'll be back soon!" He said, running into the tunnel after Viva.
She looked at the sobbing four year old who's sucking his thumb to try and soothe himself.
She grabbed his free hand and led him away from the tunnel entrance, then she gently forced him to sit and she sat beside him.
"It's okay! Viva and Creek are strong!" She said confidently.
Thankfully, Branch seemed to calm down a bit when he heard that.
Eventually, they ended up cuddling eachother, both of them anxious for the older two to come out.
But only Creek came back, looking sad.
Branch didn't like the sad face...
Then King Peppy came out of the tunnel and hurried then along.
That was when Branch knew.
Viva wasn't coming back, was she?
