Suddenly, an abnormal thrust almost made them fall; the ship was moving again and heading toward the pirate ship. Despite dragging an extremely large and heavy creature like that ether monster, over a kilometer in diameter, they were moving fast towards the enemy ship. At that speed, surprised by the sudden attack, the two ships collided.

— Are you really Lonios Drago, the Legendary Knight of War? — Elisis asked with a gleam in her eyes; she was radiant.

— Yes, it's me — Lonios smiled at her, and she returned the smile.

— I feel honored to have fought alongside you, Sir Lonios Drago, one of the Legendary Knights — she kneeled before him and looked deeply into his eyes one last time, stood up, turned to the exit door of the bridge, and shouted. — ATTACK — the doors of the ships opened.

Immediately, all 66 crew members of the ship rushed out, leaving only Lonios behind, as he couldn't get up to fight. He just stayed there, in place of Lieutenant Ka Hikaru, controlling the ship to keep pushing the ether monster and the pirate ship. Seeing Elisis's group jump onto the deck and advancing towards his ship, the pirates also emerged, but in much larger numbers. The battle began; it was hell. The monster's tentacles swept the decks of both ships, taking soldiers from both sides, but the greater casualties were among the pirates, who outnumbered them. Nimbus managed to dodge a spiky tentacle that tried to grab him, and when it missed, the tentacle swept three pirates around him.

Now, all of Elisis's soldiers were engaged in a battle on the pirate ship's deck, and as promised, Lonios began steering the entangled ship away from the ether monster. Nimbus stood on the parapet of the pirate ship, watching their ship move away and head towards the storm.

— What does Lonios intend? — Elisis stopped beside Nimbus, who was narrowly saved from being impaled by a pirate's arrow.

— To give us one last chance to survive — Nimbus replied, with tears in his eyes.

— What an incredible man; no wonder he's one of the War Legends. Now, Nimbus, if we want to seize this opportunity your master gave us, we have to fight. Fight! — She looked into the boy's eyes, and her expression changed. His eyes were still wet with tears, but now he seemed furious.

— Let's honor this chance — Nimbus said and began running towards the pirates. But to Elisis's keen eye, the battle was lost; the pirates outnumbered them five or six to one.

Nimbus fought with skill; his master's Scarlet Sword was an incredible weapon. He didn't even need to use the Time Curse to be deadly to every pirate in his path. There were at least five of them fighting him simultaneously, and it seemed like more were joining. Nimbus noticed Jim, Dr. Henry, and the bridge crew fighting a large group of pirates in one corner; they wouldn't be able to defend themselves against the overwhelming number of pirates around them.

Using all his skill and courage, Nimbus jumped onto the group of enemies surrounding them and took out several. Now that he had killed the captain, it seemed right not to hold back. He was already tainted by murder, and there was no more salvation for him. The lives of everyone depended on him; he had to take action. With this maneuver and noticing that several comrades had fallen, the pirates eased the pressure on Nimbus's allied group. But when the boy stayed there with them, the pirates resumed their attack.

— Nimbus, we can't defeat them; there are too many, and I don't see many of us left on the deck — Jim warned his friend.

— Most of them are dead, but our mission was to die fighting, and we're succeeding at that — Dr. Henry clarified, eliminating an enemy with a smile on his face. Nimbus imagined that this guy should be a knight, not an engineer.

Nimbus noticed, from the corner of his eye, that at this moment, the ship Lonios was guiding had entered the storm, dragging the colossal ether monster along.

— Damn, I wanted to see the explosion; the mathematical simulations at school say it's something incredible — Dr. Henry said, watching the ship disappear into the giant, furious whirlwind.
