Otaheit, Mu

"The La Kasami Kai's screw was damaged in the naval battle near Otaheit," Myrus spoke calmly and expressionlessly, conscious of not letting emotions show. "We have temporarily repaired it by attaching a screw manufactured in our country, but unfortunately, the new screw generates a lot of noise, and the bow sonar cannot be used during navigation. Although the towed sonar can be used, it restricts the speed to 10 knots or less. In the previous naval battle, we entered combat while using the towed sonar and had to discard the sonar into the sea. Currently, the La Kasami Kai has only one towed sonar."

The expressions of everyone present became grim, but Myrus continued calmly.

"The weapon the La Kasami Kai has for attacking submarines is short torpedoes. There were originally six torpedo tubes, but three of them were damaged in combat and are still under repair."

With severely limited reconnaissance and half the firepower, just hearing this much was enough to dampen expectations.

"In addition, one of the anti-aircraft machine guns (CIWS) is also damaged, but the anti-aircraft, anti-ship, and ground attack capabilities are mostly unaffected. In fact, I am more concerned about the shortage of ammunition."

"Repairs will be carried out, of course. When will it be finished?" Mouge asked a question as if placing a glimmer of hope.

"The new equipment needed for repairs, such as the new screw and torpedo tubes, is currently being transported from Japan to our country. It will take at least two months."

By this point, Mouge would likely give up. Myrus hoped for that.

"How about taking a break here for now? There are several things I want to confirm with the government."

Mouge suggested a break, and each country accepted it. Myrus sensed that Mouge had not given up yet.

Trigger's neurogenic gastritis not only failed to improve but was worsening. After reporting the completion of the bomb bay modification to Siegs, Trigger received new instructions.

"We're 5.000 kilometers away from the mainland!"

Siegs ordered Trigger to conduct a test by actually flying the bomber and dropping a mock-up bomb. This was expected. However, when Trigger checked the specified location on the map where the mock-up was to be dropped, it turned out to be an island in the distant Second Civilization Area, far from the mainland. Moreover, it was an unprecedented high-altitude bombing from 10.000 meters. While they weren't required to conduct a precise bombing, the condition was to ensure that the mock-up would definitely fall on the island.

"This is not a test. It's practically an exercise now."

Being a technician, Trigger had indeed realized what Siegs really wanted. They were being gradually forced into actual combat.

Daytime battle bridge of the Balsar, Eastern Expeditionary Fleet Flagship

The personnel on the bridge welcomed Cielia with great interest as she emerged from the communication room. However, apart from the commander and the captain, no one overtly stared at her.

"Miss Cielia, you've been in the communication room for a long time," Admiral Alkaid called out.

"It was a lengthy message, so decoding the encryption took some time," Cielia replied, turning the conversation back to Alkaid. "There are things I need to discuss with the admiral and the captain."
