What’s wrong with using thick glasses? What’s wrong with wearing a collared shirt, jeans and sneakers? And what’s wrong if I’m not into trending fashion styles? I’m not really acting like a geek. It is just that I feel comfortable with myself this way. And even if majority laughs about me secretly, still, I am very thankful of my best friend Milky who actually endured my awkward attitude throughout high school days until now.
First year college kami sa Johanne Moore University. I’m taking Mass Communication. At ngayon 2nd semester na.
“Jade, tulala ka na naman dyan!” Tinap ako bigla ni Milky sa balikat
“No, I’m not. Iniisip ko lang ang mga mangyayari this semester” Sabi ko kay Milky.
“Nag-iisip ka pa. You know naman na it’s the same. Walang bago bukod sa mga Octoberians at Profs” Ganito talaga si Milky. As if she cares about the world. Masyadong Happy-go- Lucky. All she cares about is her long time crush na si Erol na medyo imposibleng maging boyfriend nya dahil he is one of the heartthrob of this campus. Ako naman, I still stick with my Tyron, actually hindi talaga siya sa akin. Pero he is my dream. Hindi nya ko kilala at sigurado akong he will only be just a dream. How can a guy like him fall in love with a girl like me? He has the face. He is rich; he is famous at higit sa lahat he is down to earth. He is everything and he is the exact man that I want to be with. Kaya hanggang pantasya na lang ako. Si Milky lang ang nakakaalam ng admiration ko about Jake Tyron Nuestro.
“Mil, I’m going. Mas mapapaaga ako sa library. Alam mo na ang daming works dun. I cannot leave Maam April alone” sabi ko kay Milky, kasi working student ako ng Johanne Moore Universtiy.
“Why can’t you leave that place. Gosh! Parang wala kang pangtuition ha! Kara Jade Neris your family can afford this U, pero nagpapakahirap ka pang magstudent assistant.” Matagal na talaga akong gustong pagquitin ni Milky sa work ko. Paano ba naman she always likes to be with me. At hindi ako nyan tatantanan sa pakukwento about Erol.
“I can’t. You know already that I don’t like to bother my family about me. And besides I am preparing myself to be independent”
“Sige na sige na girl! Go go. Baka malate ka! Nakakahiya naman sa girlfriend kong frustrated maging Independent” Talagang makulit si Milky, at bigla nya na lang akong iniwan na nakita nya ng nagpark ang car ni Erol. If only I can talk to Erol para malaman kokung anong gayuma ang meron siya at baliw na baliw sa kanya ang girlfriend ko.
