I didn't know what to expect.

Dylan said to meet him in the lobby.
I gingerly made my way to the elevators , cursing six inch heels as I went.
I pressed the down button.
When the elevator reach, I stepped in. In a corner was an older man.

Now don't get me wrong, not old as in elderly. I mean older as in late 40s to early 50s.
You know those men that age well and still retaining that dark mane. This man was graying at his temples. The look fit him. I was so busy admiring him that I didn't realize that I was staring.

"Is something wrong?" He asked.
I snapped out of it.
"Sorry.....are you talking to me?"
He smiled revealing a row of impeccable white teeth.
"I asked if something was wrong. You were staring at me", he said with a thick Spanish accent.
I blushed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stare."

How long did it take this elevator to get to the lobby?

"You look beautiful. Must be a special night", he observed.

I blushed again. I'm in the elevator with him for two minutes, and I'm blushing like a schoolgirl.

I decided to change the subject.
"So are you here for a particular reason?"
He smiled again. Note to self: seems to smile a lot.

The elevator pinged.

"I hope your evening is as lovely as you are. Adios" He stepped out and left.

Well, that was interesting.

I walked towards the center of the lobby and looked around for Dylan.

Then, our eyes met.

It was as if things stood still. Neither of us made an attempt to move.

I guess he finally caught himself because he started to move towards me.

He reached out and gently pulled me in for a hug.
"You look.....amazing" he whispered into my ear.

He stood back a bit and analyzed me from head to toe.
"I knew it would fit you perfectly", he said looking into my eyes.
I noticed that his voice dropped a notch.

I gazed up at him. "Thanks, it's a really beautiful dress."
"Not nearly as beautiful as the person wearing it" he proclaimed.

He reached out for my hand and looked into my eyes. "Al...".

I cut him off. "We should probably get going."

I have a feeling I would like what he's going to say, but the timing wasn't the best.

I could tell he didn't want to stop it there. Deep within me, I was flustered and didn't want to stop him either.

He cleared his throat, " yea...I guess."

Trying to lighten the mood, he held out his arm for me. "M'lady, may I escort you?"
I laughed and took his arm.

We walked down the hallway and made it to the Vespache restaurant.
We were immediately ushered towards a far corner.

As we neared the back table, there were already two men seated. I assumed they were the businessmen that Dylan briefed me on earlier.

Because of the dim lighting, I couldn't really detect faces properly. As we neared the table, both men stood up.

Dylan greeted them and introduced me, but I was in shock.

One man took my hand and kissed it.

He smiled and said, "I knew you would have a lovely evening".

The elevator guy.

I couldn't blush this time because I knew that the other man was staring at me.

"Nice to see you again, Alexandra."

There was only one person who could let my name roll off of his tongue like that.

I doubt that this night would end up being "lovely".
