The next morning I was nicely woken up to screaming. Can you sense the sarcasm? I groaned loudly, wondering who the heck was screaming so early in the morning. I looked at the clock and noticed that it was five in the evening that next day. I had almost slept the entire day. Then I realized that it was Jace who was screaming next to me, and he was waking up for the first time since I was with him. My body was feeling much better than it did last night. I was still a bit sore but I was able to now sit up, thanks to my fast healing abilities.

“Jace, calm down. It’s okay. I’m here for you.” I said, trying my best to comfort him, even if he was hurting.

Jessica ran into the room, holding a needle with a strange blue liquid in it. I watched as she inserted it into Jace’s arm, telling him that everything would be okay and this medicine would help him. I asked her what that medicine was and she said, “It’s a werewolf painkiller called Remedy. It works in seconds. It’s a real magic itself.”
Jace’s screams quieted and his body relaxed. He was still, thankfully, conscious and alert to his surroundings. As soon as his eyes met mine, his face softened and a small smile crept on his lips. I couldn’t help but smile back at him. He was alive and that’s all that mattered. There was so much I wanted to say to him, but I couldn’t find that right words. I couldn’t pull myself from staring into his beautiful eyes.
“Alpha, you may feel some discomfort, I need to change your bandages on your back.” Jessica spoke, snapping us both out of our trace.

Jace nodded his head slowly as he gripped onto my hand, holding it tightly in his. It took everything to not flinch as she removed the bloodied bandages. Jace’s grip got tighter and it hurt me to know that he was in pain. Tears filled my eyes as I stared at his back now. I had to say that his back was probably fifty percent better than last night. I could see the wound blistering but scabbing over. He was slowly healing.
“You’re back should be healed in about a week. To a normal human, this would take about a month to heal. You’re lucky you’re an Alpha too, so you’ll heal quicker than a normal werewolf.” Jessica said, as she placed new bandages on Jace.

“Send for Zack please.” Jace instructed.

Jessica finished up and exited the room to get Zack. Hopefully, he had figured something out. I realized that I was finally alone with Jace and that I could say what had been on my mind the second I woke up in the rubble. Tears lingered in my eyes as I closed my eyes, not wanting him to see me cry.
“Jace, I was so scared that you died.” I spoke softly, not fully trusting myself to speak at a normal tone.

“Iz, I could never leave you like that. I know you were scared, I was too.” He admitted, wiping a few tears away from my cheeks. I opened my eyes to see that Jace’ were full of concern.

He grabbed me from behind the neck and pulled me in as he pressed his lips against mine. I couldn’t help but kiss him back, knowing he was just too irresistible to not kiss him back. My mouth seemed to fit perfectly with his and my heart was racing a thousand miles a second. He just had that effect on me and as much as I hated it, I also loved it.

We pulled away and my mind wandered but to the amazing evening Jace and I had before thee exposition. It was probably the perfect night and no one had ever done something so amazing for me. No one really cared that much for me. He went out of his way to do that for me and I just couldn’t believe someone would do that.
