Min-ji's ship, which had no name now that Splendiferous had transfered himself out, came to within a few relative light seconds of the UFO and transitioned into realspace.

Sitting in the co-pilot's chair Min-ji could feel the field superiority being asserted by the UFO as a soft, smothering sensation. The ship was at the complete mercy of the aliens. Min-ji wasn't even certain she could jump away to hyperspace, but it wasn't an option she was seriously considering anyway.

She attempted to open communications with the tiny cylinder but that, too, was suppressed by the UFO.

The two objects slid through the blackness at sub-light speeds, the UFO traveling with purpose, Min-ji's ship drifting aimlessly. Finally, the UFO came so close one might have even been able to see it visually if they had stood upon Min-ji's ship and used a simple glass magnifier.

Suddenly clouds of particulate matter coalesced into dozens of spheres surrounding the UFO in five dimensions. The UFO was getting more and more efficient at creating these war drones.

Min-ji's eyes were already closed, but she shifted her focus back to her body so that she could appreciate the blackness.

Red beams from every conceivable direction blasted her ship to pieces.

I recognize this isn't long enough to justify it's own part, but I forgot to include it in the last part and it is definitely supposed to be part of this chapter. If I just add it in now everyone who already read that chapter will miss it, so here we are.
