Turning around I was met with a pouting Katie.  Oh my gosh she is so adorable.  I just wanna... no quit it.  "I'm sorry I was going to but I got distracted."  She pouted more if that was even possible.  I pulled her into a tight hug before I did anything I was going to regret later.  "I'm sorry," I whispered in her ear.  She shivered lightly and I raised my eyebrow confused.  Our hug was broken when Martin jumped on us... Literally.  I groaned from the floor and the weight on me, "Guys c-can't breathe."  Martin started laughing and the weight was lessened out.  I looked up and saw Katie was hovering over me.  My eyes widened slightly at our position but Katie was pulled up by Martin before I could really see her reaction.  Landon reached for my hand to help pull me up but I heard a familiar voice, "I got this."  Autumn stepped into view and offered her hand.  I smiled and grabbed her hand using the help to get off the floor.  "Hey there pretty girl."  I lightly blushed and looked away and dropped her hand when I realized I was still holding it.  I heard someone clear their throat and my head snapped up to Landon, Martin, and Katie.  Why does Katie seem angry?  Stop I am imagining things..  "Hey guys this is Autumn, I met her this morning in 3-D art.  Autumn this is Landon, Martin, and my best friend Katie."  I said while I pointed to each of them.

They all smiled except for Katie, her smile seemed a bit... off.  I snapped out of it when Martin started talking, "It's nice to meet you.  Oh, we were about to all go for lunch, would you like to join us?"  She looked surprised at the offer and looked at me.  "Are you sure?"  I shrugged and smiled, "It's up to you."  She smiled widely and looked at everyone, "It would be my pleasure."  I felt her reach for my hand and intertwined our fingers.  I smiled and looked at the floor when I heard Landon clap and say, "Yay, alright let's head out."  I pulled Autumn with me and we all walked out together to Martin's car.  Leaning into Autumn I noticed Katie was looking at her phone on the way to the car.  Weird.  Feeling a slight pull on my hand I noticed everyone was getting into the car.  Martin driving, Landon shotgun, Autumn, me, and Katie in the back seat.  As soon as the car started Landon hooked onto the aux cord and started playing 'Problems by 6lack'.  Noticing that Katie was upset I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to me.  I whispered in her ear, "I've got you.  Don't worry."  She leaned into me and put her head in the crook of my neck.  I held onto her tighter and kissed the top of her head.

Once we all got out of the car everything seemed to go back to usual.  Well at least Katie was talking again.  She was laughing at something Martin had said and I couldn't help but smile.  She lights up a room in the darkest times.  "So Autumn what are you studying for?"  I looked to my right and saw Autumn smiled lightly, "I am going to be a architect actually.  I just love being able to get my designs in the world and possibly help people and my passion continued to develop over the years."  I smiled at the love pouring out of her eyes when she was talking about something she loved.  I reached under the table to hold her hand and squeeze it.  She looked over at me and kissed my cheek quickly.  I coughed and blushed as red as a tomato.  "You're cute when you blush."  I couldn't help the smile on my face and leaned into her.  I looked up at Landon who was smiling at us but also looking over at Katie.  I looked next to him and saw she really wasn't all here.  I sat up straight and said that I was going to go to the bathroom.  After I was done with my business I looked at myself in the mirror.  "I could get over her.  I don't want to ruin anything.  Ugh why do I have to make things so complicated."  I sighed and shook my head washing my hands and walked back to the table.  "Hey V we ordered for you if that's alright?"  I smiled at Martin and said, "Yeah I have no problem with that."

Lunch went by quickly and we all went back to the school so I could go to my last class while everyone else went home.  In my last class I couldn't help but zone out and overthink my feelings about my best friend.  I shouldn't even have these.  We have the best friendship I could ever ask for.  How can I go and mess that up if none of my feelings are returned.  I can't put all of that on the line. I ran a hand through my hair and finished the work the professor had assigned so I didn't have to do it later.  Once class was over I was quick to start my walk back home.  Coming down the street I had noticed that my parents were home.  Sighing loudly and fixed my bag on my shoulder and made my way to the door.  After I unlocked the door I ran straight into my father.  Literally right into him, "Watch where you are fucking going punk."  He grabbed my shirt and pulled me into the house.  My mother shut the door and I dropped my stuff to hold onto my fathers hand that was holding my shirt tightly.  He looked at me and smirked, "Well look honey she seems afraid."  He got closer to my face and continued, "You should be."  He then forcefully threw me across the room with my back hitting the wall.  I heard both of my parents laughing while they left the house.  Still laying on the floor I tried to subside the pain I was feeling.
