Age 17, Senior Year

I stared at the guy that had my heart in bunches.

The guy who gave me butterflies by the mere thought of him.

The guy who made my heart drop to my ass when he looks at me, but recently... the look wasn't the same.

Before his eyes used to glisten as he looked at me, as if I was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

Something about that changed... everything about him changed.

We were currently at my house, my parents went out of town for business so I was able to sneak him in.

"Hey Santi wanna go to the new roller skating rink?, Daja went with Kayden and they said it's really cool" I asked as he typed away on his phone

"Nah" he didn't even look up from his phone

"Ok so what do you wanna do?" I asked snuggling up closer to him on the couch

He tensed up

"Can you give me some personal space..." I hid my embarrassment and moved back to where I was before.

Usually he was the affectionate one, but now it was like I had to beg him to just kiss me.

"Sorry" he didn't respond and continued typing away on his phone

A Few Weeks Later

"Efi, are you ok?" Darren whispered from backstage

I realized that I hadn't went up on stage when my name was called.

I let a smile grace my lips as I turned to look at him
"Yea sorry, I got a little nervous" I lied

He smiled with relief wandering in his beautiful blue orbs
"I know you'll do amazing"

I was asked by a local theater to sing for the Cinderella play they were showcasing. It was a big opportunity that I couldn't miss out on.
