Our girls (Marina)

Chapter 31

"Come on tesoro" Carina said as she turned off the car, making the girl flinch at the sudden noise. Luna had spaced out for a little bit, lost in her own thoughts "We are here" she said making Luna nod 

The couple entered the house followed by the nine-year-old that, as soon as she entered, made sure to take a minute and look at the place. She felt a sense of relief run all over her body when she realized it still felt like her home. Everything was the same as she remembered it  

The girl felt all her feelings striking her. A lump formed in her throat as tears welled up in her eyes. She had dreamed about this for so long, thinking about how much longer would she have to wait until she'll be able to go back home... But now it was finally happening 

Suddenly, Luna heard noises coming from the hallways, coming closer everytime. Fast as a flash, the, not so little, dog ran towards the girl, wiggling his tail as he barked 

"Ace" the girl said kneeling down , feeling how the dog started liking her face "I missed you bud" she said as the dog layed on the floor with his tummy up, making the girl start rubbing it.  

"He missed you too" Maya said making the girl look at her 

It was true, the dog had missed her. Ace slept in the girls' room, more specificaly, Luna's bed. The first days, they all noticed the pup a little down... they were all down. He would sometimes let out little cries at night, accompanied by Emma who would cry herself to sleep everynight 

"Emma?" the girl asked realizing they still had to pick the six-year-old from her uncle's house

"We will pick her up tomorrow morning okay?" Maya answered making the girl nod "What do you want to do now?" 

"Bath..." the girl said looking at her hands as she stood up, letting a little wince scape her mouth. Her body was throbbing in pain... she was in the most pain she had ever been since all the meds from the hospital were starting to wear off  

The girl hadn't been able to shower yet and she couldn't help but feel this need of taking a long shower in hopes of making herself feel better, less... hurt. 

As she started walking to the bathroom, the girl couldn't help but let out some whimpers and some tears that she couldn't keep in. The pain was almost unbearable, she had to stop every a few steps to try and make her body settle before starting to walk again  

The couple, that walked behind the girl, looked at each other not being able to imagine how the girl was feeling. They would say some words, trying to reassure the girl that everything was going to be okay know, but it was getting harder to believe that from the nine-year-old's point of view 

Once they made it to the bathroom, Maya went to search for some of the girl's clothes while Carina prepared the tub. 

"Hurts" the girl whispered looking at her mamma, waiting for her to give her something it could make her feel better 

"I know you are in pain bella but the bath will make you feel better" Carina said as she took a long breath trying to find the strength in her to control her emotions "You can take as long as you want, we would be outside okay?" she said as Maya stood by the door with a new set of clothes in her hands 

When the women left, the girl slowly stripped of her clothes, feeling the pain strike her with every movement 

Once in the tub, the girl felt her body finally relaxing, she closed her eyes for a second but the memories of the previous events hit, making her open her eyes immediately and bring her knees to her chest. 

Suddenly a wave of fear went through her body, her chest clenched making her ribs hurt. She tried to gasp for air but she couldn't, she looked around trying to remember herself that she was back home, that she was safe but her body didn't seem to understand that
