Morning came around, Alice woke up in the cave, on top of someone, wrapped in a blanket. She looked up to see Vlad, he was fast asleep. She looked over at the car and saw that her tires had been fixed.

"Just wait till the sunsets," Vlad suggested, Alice looked back to see he had shifted awake; still hadn't opened his eyes. "Then we will head home." Alice noticed that he was shirtless, and she turned away as the heat rose to her cheeks.

"Did we really--" Alice began as she rolled off, taking most of the blanket, she sat up.

"Yes," Vlad answered as he sat up, taking back some of the blankets.

Alice saw that her pants were sitting not too far from her, so she reached into her pocket. She took out her mirror, and she saw there was a bruise on her neck. "Ingrid's going to kill me and then stake me." She sat up, touching her neck. "I should have something to cover this."

"I figured you'd be happy that I didn't bite you," Vlad said as he wrapped his arms around her, from behind. "Turn you into one of us."

"Vlad, your father for a whole year or so was preparing me the day you turned 16 to be your first bite," Alice brought up. "Getting bitten by you is the least of my concerns...Ingrid's wrath is what I'm worried about."

"You won't have to worry about her," Vlad assured. "You are technically my property." Alice slowly turned to look at him. "Sorry." She pinched his nipple and twisted it. "Ow! Alice!"

Alice was now driving the two back to Garside, Vlad applied some cover makeup on Alice's neck.

"So, since you do belong to me," Vlad began. "Should we set ground rules?"

"Respect my privacy," Alice instructed. "Let me make decisions...be sure to use please with me."

"Yes, ma'am," Vlad agreed with a smile. "Do we still have that marriage deal?"

Alice glanced at him with a light smile. "I wouldn't dare break a pinky promise."

They arrived at Garside at night, not a soul or vampire was seen walking the hallways of the school. Vlad took Alice down to the cellar to see the book, Bertrand was hitting a punching bag with a stick. There was a metallic clang, Bertrand looked back then he looked back to see Vlad and Alice.

"You're getting sloppy," Vlad commented.

"Vlad?" Bertrand asked in surprise. "Where have you been?" He looked at Alice. "You brought the breather."

"Not important," Vlad said as he walked past Bertrand. "We've got a full night's work to do." He walked over to the book, tapping Bertrand on the back.

"Hold on," Bertrand as Alice walked up to him. "You should let the Count know you're back."

"Later," Vlad said. "When I rule the vampire clans, I'm gonna need an edge. I need to know their histories, their traditions, and most importantly, their dark secrets."

"But the Praedictume Impaver is blank," Bertrand said. "Without that wisdom, how are you going to lead them?"

"With the help of Alice, my darker's side part of me now," Vlad answered, Bertrand glanced at her. "My powers are honed, and I'm ready to rule." He went back toward the book. "I write my own destiny."

Bertrand stepped forward. "And how do you see that? Still think humans and vampires can live in harmony?"

Vlad chuckled, and he looked at Bertrand. "Don't worry." He looked at Alice. "I've seen the light." He then turned back toward the book.
