Sathya sat on the couch, looking outside the window and in the sheer silence of the night, his stomach began to rumble aloud like a wild bear causing him clutch it softly with his other hand,
"DSP sir! " her voice came again causing him to his hand off his stomach and sit straight.
It was already enough trouble for her in the middle of the night and he didn't want to add to it.
"Yes ,Doctor? " He replied and was stunned to see it,
"Kochikaathinga.. I couldn't offer you much now..
Please bear with the coffee and toast for now" She said extending a plate of bread toast and a cup of coffee with hopeful eyes,
" Doctor? This is-
"Sanda potrukinga.. It's nearing two.. Kandipa pasikum..
Ipothiku bread and jam dha irukaa.. Athaa I made toast..
Saapdunga DSP Sir" She told him as she sat in front of him.
Sathya held the plate in his hand and gazed at her visage with absolute wonderment that it reflected in his widened eyes and parted lips. Krithika noticed it and gestured him to eat it without protest,
"Thank you" Sathya whispered sincerely and bit the toast she made, she had even bothered to smear some butter and jam in it!
"DSP sir! Enaku oru doubt uh! " Krithika looked absolutely adorable patting her fingers on her chin, "Hmmm? " He bent his head to ensure he was listening,
"Mission secret nu sonningala? " She asked him and sat in the edge if her chair, "Hmmm."
"Apo epdi adi pattuchu nu keta enna solvinga? " She asked him innocently and he drank his coffee to conceal his laugh,
"Enna soldrathu.. Dressing panna late ah vanthathu naala Duty Doctor punishment koduthutaanga nu solidatuma? " He asked her in a matter of fact tone,
"Apdi sonna Guru anne nambuvaangla? " She asked him again,
"En? Neenga dha periya rowdy aache Doctor? Kandipa nambuvaanga" He played along,
"DSP sir ah adichitiya nu enna adika varuvaanga! " She told him again,
"Chance eh illa.. He finished his coffee, Enga pera solli naalu podunga nu dha solvaanga" He told her with a small twich and she laughed at that,
"Ungluku theriyuma DSP sir? Enaku chinna vayasulernthu rowdy ah irukanum nu aasa..
Aana enna paathu yaarumae bayapada maatanga! Neenga dha enna first uh rowdy nu solirukinga theriyuma? " She giggled this time and clapped her hands in excitement.
Sathya smiled wider seeing her excitement.
"Apdina sari, ungla Doctor Don nu arivichidlam! " He told her and she held her hands up for a high five.
