Your stench lingers,
Tainting the good memories,
This city, was once mine,
A little sanctuary
Resolute.
I see you in the faces of every man I meet
I feel you in their touch
Feel your hot breath in the nape of my neck
Churning in my stomach.
I see you when I look at him.
I see you when im held by him
I see your eyes in his
As if my body cannot let go if the hell that was yours.
If you had raped any other girl,
I think you'd be in jail by now.
But I see you in eery corner I turn,
And I'm too scared to go to the cops.
And though I've tried
I still can't shake you
Honestly, I may never shake you,
You may always be the evil that resides deep in my bones
I my be cursed to share this inhabitance with you.
And though I've been told, I always seem to find the bright side
I don't think this story gets a hoary ending,
I think sometimes you're just a victim of your past.
Im just your victim.
