"Eira Jameson" I hear my professor call maybe he'll leave me alone if he sees I'm sleeping.
I feel a light shake and I peek my eye open to see my professor standing in front of me with an annoyed expression.
"Eira Jameson" he calls again
"That's name don't wear it out" I respond rubbing my eyes
He narrows his eyes at me
"You know Eira it's not Christmas break yet"
I lift a brow
"It is in 5 minutes"
"Than the least you can do is listen to me for those 5 minutes."
I almost whine out but I don't Prefosser Arwen is actually really sweet but he's a bit of a blabber mouth.
I watch the clock so intensely almost willing it so the bell will ring
When class was finally over I almost jumped for joy I wished my professor a Merry Christmas and ran across campus and straight to my dorm.
My roommate Ivy was sitting on my bed doing last minute Christmas gift wrapping.
Her brown hair was all over the place and her blue eyes peek through to look up at me.
"Hi hun you finally off?"
"Hey ivy" I give her a quick hug while swinging off my jacket
"Yeah I'm finally off for break"
"but not for long I have to head to Winnie's diner for my last shift before the holiday's"
"Ooh I'll come with I have to meet up with beux"
Beux is Ivy's hockey boyfriend they're the definition of a hallmark couple
"Great can you drive me it's snowing like crazy out there I don't feel like walking"
"Of course" ivy sings
She's always the life of the party
I usually am but I have too much on my mind
I recently just went through a breakup with a jerk also hockey player Lincoln finkleberg
I should've know he was a red flag when he told me his last name was finkleberg
"Eira your daydreaming we don't have all day sweets"
"Sorry"I groan miserably
"You thinking about stupid twinkle finkle again?"
"Just my raging hate for hockey boys" I say smiling grimly as I hold the door open
"Hey!" Ivy argues
"they're not all bad you just have to find the right ones"
"Unfortunately my dear you found a bad nut"
"Worse than bad nut iv he cheated on me and dumped me right before Christmas who does that?"
"And I had already told my family to expect someone special for Christmas"
Ivy gives my arm a reassuring squeeze
"I wouldn't worry about it maybe they forgot"
Lord I hope so

I walk over to Ivy's table and decide to serve them first while the owner Camilla takes some other tables
