Veer's PoV-

She said I have a pretty fuckable face.

Okay, she said I am bitch too, but we can ignore that.

"Talk." Shanaya slammed the table, causing the table around us to give strange looks.

"You can order if you want." I ignored her comment and passed the menu to her. Perhaps it's my calm and poised attitude that's triggering her.

"Cut the bullshit—why have you called me here?" She glared at me with her sharp grey eyes, her palm pressing the table.

"No reason, just a company for brunch." I remained nonchalant as I was.

We both knew that wasn't true.

She leaned back on the chair, her eyes suspiciously looking around me. Possibly at my guards.

"I don't accompany my best friend's love interest on brunches. It's girl code." She emphasized more on the love interest part.

"What interest?" My calm poise suddenly turned more introspective. A crease formed between my eyebrows.

"You both might be blind as fuck, but I can see it." She spoke, more like informed.

"See what?" I asked, confused.

"The way you look at her."

"How do I look at her?" I pretended being more interested in her senseless talks, just so I could get the informations I wanted.

"Like you'd be ripped apart if you stopped."

At some extent, it felt right. I would be ripped apart if I don't get to see her. Feel her near me. Be it cursing or appreciation, I just wanted to hear her talk. I could hear it forever without being tired.

How could I be tired of it when her voice is the only potion I need to live.

"Why have you called me?" She repeated.

I stared at her, blankly. I couldn't get the words to decipher why I called her here. How come she knows such stuff? About what I feel about her.

"I wanted to know about her." I gulped averting my gaze from her.

"So you want to impress her." Her face straight, lacking any iota of emotion. I nodded positively.

She kept the conversation short and to the point, just how I like it. Never knew she was a no-nonsense kind of girl.

Her gaze hardened, and she leaned forward, her eyes boring into mine. Almost tried to intimidate me with that. Too bad, I have plucked out many eyes like them so they don't inflict a speck of terror in me.
