Next morning, I woke up to a distant beeping sound. Squinting my eyes to the blinding light in the room, I groggily sat up. Who the ***** switched on the lights?

"Michael Holmes! Wake up this instant or I'll have your father drag you" there's my answer.

My eyes went to the clock and they literally popped out.

8:30!

I quickly went over to the desk to check my phone.

15 missed calls. I cursed.

John will kill me.

What was I thinking searching for answers to my doubts the whole night? Seriously, Professor Hassan definitely possessed me. I was sure of it.

I went about my morning routine as soon as I could. Going downstairs I cautiously stepped in the kitchen, afraid that I'd find my dad and would recieve a mouthful.

"Your father has to go early today" I heard my mom said from where she sat on the dining table, chewing on her breakfast and staring at me.

I sighed in relief. Thank god.

But my relief did not last long before I remembered murderous face of my best friend.

"Okay mom bye!"

I turned on my heels and literally ran out of the house.

"What about the breakfast!"

"I'll get something on my way!" I called out, throwing my leg over the black motorbike and speeding away from our driveway.

As I promised mom, I stopped at a cafe to quickly buy a Mocha.

I reached the school in few minutes and hopped down from my motorbike. I grabbed a blue folder and spinning the key around my finger, I made my way through the doors. Student body was spread around something or someone. The hallway was filled with students as they tried to get a glimpse of that somebody.

"What's going on? Move!" I yelled to get their attention. They backed away as I approached the person who had his back on me. John.

Who was he facing, I didn't know.

"John, you -

I stopped in my tracks. The spinning key around my finger came to a halt and my expression went blank, jaws clenched.

Before me was my ex-girlfriend, cheater and a fraud. Her face was caked with makeup as usual, same sense of fashion and those same green eyes.

It has been three years since she left with someone else, three years since I last saw her and three years since she ****** stole from me. How could I have not seen it coming? How could I not believe my best friend when he tried to inform me about her vicious side?

And now, she was standing before me with that innocent, tear-stained face thinking I'll accept her back into my life and forget about whatever she did. The heck I will, I'm better off without her or the likes of her.
