AUTHOR'S POV
After Ishita entered her house, she found everyone gathered in the drawing room. "Hi, I am back" she announced cheerfully. Her father immediately responded, "Beta, go freshen up and join us. Your brother has been waiting to say something since 4 o'clock, and he insists he'll speak only after you arrive."
"Okay baba" Ishita replied obediently, making her way upstairs to her room.
Fifteen minutes later, Ishita descended the stairs, now dressed in a tank top and shorts. Catching sight of her, her brother Adarsh exclaimed "Now that Ishu is here, I want to announce something" However, before he could continue, his mother interrupted, asking him impatiently, "অরে বলো কি বলবে? (hey tell what you want to say?)" Undeterred, Adarsh asserted "Arre i am saying nah" and then boldly declared "I want to announce something that — iaminlove"
Ishita's mother quickly interjected "আরে ছেলে, তুমি কি বলতে চাও পরিষ্কার করে বলো। আমরা বুঝতে পারছি না (hey, say what you mean clearly. We don't understand)" Despite the confusion, Ishita understood her brother perfectly and found herself speechless, her mouth agape in astonishment.
Adarsh repeated his announcement once more, this time with added emphasis, "I AM IN LOVE" His declaration hung in the air for a moment before his father spoke up "ঠিক আছে তাই তুমি বিয়ে করতে চাও? (ok so you want to get married?)"
Adarsh nodded eagerly, and his father and Ishita's father exchanged a knowing glance. "ঠিক আছে (that's okay)" his father said, giving his approval.
Ishita's mother then inquired "মেয়ে কে? (who is the girl)" Adarsh revealed, "Isha Kapoor my secretary" prompting Ishita to realize that Isha Kapoor, Adarsh's secretary was Aditya's sister.
Ishita's mind raced with the implications of her brother's announcement, and she simply nodded in response to the conversation unfolding around her. After their family dinner, as everyone retired to their respective rooms.
As Ishita entered her own room, Abhimanyu's name flashed on Ishita's phone screen as it rang, signaling an incoming call. She hesitated for a moment, her heart skipping a beat at the sight of his name.
With a quick intake of breath, she answered the call. "Hey, Abhimanyu" she greeted warmly.
"Hi, Ishita" came his equally cheerful reply. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
"No, not at all" she assured him. "Just got back from a family announcement, actually."
"Really? What was it about?" Abhimanyu inquired curiously.
