I'm not a big fan of parties. Every single one I've been to something went wrong. From my parents forgetting my birthday cake to someone dying.

And I don't like the idea of getting so wasted that you can't walk. Why make your body useless? Why make something easy, hard? I just don't get it.

Also going to a party just to hook up with people just seems awful. Having sex with a random person and never seeing them again. Isn't sex supposed to be meaningful?

But it's whatever. I know I sound like that parent telling you DON'T DRINK and DON'T HAVE SEX. But honestly it's just my opinion. And everyone has one.

But even though I think parties are stupid I'm still going to go. My friends are going so I'm just going to kick it.

"You guys ready for the best night of your lives!!" Ali yells pumping her fist in the air.

"Aliyah we haven't even left my driveway" Shawn sighed. He's been irritated about everything all day. He's usually happy go lucky Shawnie, but now he's acting like a seagull just shitted on his head.

"Shut up Shawn, just because you didn't make the state talent show doesn't mean your not talented." She tried reasoning with him, but just wasn't having it.

"YES IT DOES. they were picking the most talented and I didn't get picked. Do you understand or ARE YOU JUST DUMB"

Aliyah's face got red. She was that person who took insults personal. So someone calling her "dumb" made her angry.

"WHO THE FU-"

"Ali please don't yell at Shawn, he's obviously hurting. And Shawn we understand that your upset but don't bring it out on others. Especially when they're trying to help you" I calmed. I swear they fight like a married couple who are about to sign the divorce papers.

Shawn just rolled his eyes while Aliyah started my car.

Quinton Lake was jam packed. Every girl, boy, dog, rock was there. The party just started and half of the people were already in the lake.

"Are you guys getting in the Lake?" I asked as we were unpacking the car. This party is "bring your own shit, we just provide the lake" kind of function. We brought things to drink, not alcohol -well to my knowledge- chips, our bathing suits and extra clothes.

"Uhhh, it depends. I'll go in if you guys are" Ali said.

"I'm planning to" I said. Shawn nodded in agreement.

"Let's just drop off our stuff with Katie, and let's get in!!"

We all agreed and made our way to Ali's high spirited friend.

"Wassup Kate" Ali greeted.

"Nothin much, just trying to relax." Katie smiled. "Hey Nash, Hey Shawn." I just smiled while Shawn said a small 'hello'.

"Um Kate do you mind watching our stuff, while we get n' the water"

"Nope, I don't plan leaving this spot, I'm pretty comfy" she agreed.

"Thanks K, see ya later" we thank and head towards the water. We striped our clothes because our suits were underneath and jumped in.

The water was freezing. It was only 78° outside so the water was no where close to warm.
