Charlotte woke up around nine AM and she noticed that James wasn't in bed. She went downstairs and she looked around for him, but she didn't see him. She went back upstairs to take a shower before she cooked breakfast. Once she got done taking her shower, she put on her white robe with multicolored stripes. She decided that she would cook scrambled I e eggs with cheese, pancakes that cinnamon and vanilla in them and chewy bacon. While she was cooking, Charlotte to turn the radio. The radio was sitting on the end table next to the Frigidaire. She fiddled with the knobs on the radio. The radio was a cherry red radio. Charlotte's mother had bought her the radio for Christmas the previous year. While she was cooking, James came into the kitchen. He had gone to the market to get some flowers for Charlotte. He knew that she had been feeling a bit blue. He decided to get her some pink carnations and red roses. Charlotte looked up when she heard him enter the kitchen. She noticed that he was holding something behind his back. "I was wondering where you had disappeared to? I decided to start making breakfast." James start to reach for a freshly cooked pancake. Charlotte playfully swatted his hand and moved the humongous plate of pancake to the kitchen table. James grinned and he tried to grab some bacon. Charlotte decided to let him take a piece. After Charlotte finished cooking, she placed all of the food on the round mahogany kitchen table. Charlotte decided to say grace this morning. Normally James volunteered to say it. After they bowed their heads and closed their eyes, Charlotte started to say a few words. After they finished praying, James asked her if she was okay with him going bowling that night with his co- workers. " I don't care if you go tonight, I was planning on going to my parents house tonight for dinner. Jacqueline and her husband are supposed to be there." James grinned and he started eating his breakfast. After they finished eating, he decided to turn on the record player. He decided to play some Otis Redding. While he busy, Charlotte had walked into their bedroom and she sat down on their king sized mahogany bed. She decided to dress up a little bit. She put on some makeup. Her parents had gotten an oak dresser with a mirror attached to it when she and James had moved back to Lexington. Charlotte got as close as possible to the mirror. She put on some mascara. While she was putting it on, she accidentally jerked her hand and she ended having streaks of mascara on her face. She ran to the bathroom and tried to find her jar of Pond's Cold Cream. She found it underneath the sink. Charlotte also grabbed a washcloth. She put some of the cream on her face and she wetted the washcloth and she wipe the mascara off her face. After she finished, Charlotte went back to the bedroom and finished putting on her makeup. When she came back into the living room, she noticed that "Try A Little Tenderness" was filling the room. James extended his hand toward his wife and he said
" May I have this dance?"  Charlotte smiled and said " Of course you may". It had been several years since they had danced, but she loved every minute of it. James tried singing the song while they were dancing. James couldn't sing, but he still loved to try anyway. While they danced, Charlotte hoped that they would always be this happy as they were in that very moment.
