Allah, these girls were a riot. I couldn't help but giggle at their endless jokes, sarcasms, and witty comebacks. Their energy was infectious, and I couldn't remember the last time I'd laughed so much. Then, it suddenly hit me that I had left the cheesecakes I made in the car.

"Zuhra, I left the cheesecakes in the car. Please bring them in," I quickly requested.

Zuhra jumped up, and Amnah followed suit, I was left with Zulaikha and a nameless girl who had been sending daggers my way. I decided to pay her no mind.

"Adda, sorry about the delay. Abul will be out soon. And Ya Zara is at the spa," Zulaikha explained.

I smiled and assured her that it was no problem. "I've enjoyed your company so I'm not really bothered."

The nameless girl, however, stood up, hissed, and left in a hurry. "You better run," I thought, not bothering to hide my irritation.

"Is she always that petulant?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

Zulaikha shook her head. "No, she's only like this when you're around. You know she has a..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Zuhra returned, cutting her off. "Oh, Adda, this is one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had in my life."

I couldn't help but tease her, "of course , I'm a great chef, and I can't remember telling you to have any, I only asked you to help me bring them in. Oh, I forgot, Na ba maye ajiyan nama ."

Zuhra playfully agreed, "You bet you did, I just saw Uncle N's car. He's heading to his room, maybe."

My eyes widened as my heart raced. "Adda, why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" Amnah asked, noticing my distress.

"Zuhra, stop pestering my daughter-in law , or I'll beat you," someone warned playfully.

I looked up and saw a fair woman In her late forty's descending from the stairs , she had long black hair that was slightly tinged with gray at her temple and she wore a green lace that complimented her fair skin, she was simply beautiful , this family possessed inherent beauty.

"Good afternoon, Ammi," I greeted as I heard Zuhra and the rest greeting her , bowing slightly as I approached her.

"Afternoon, habibty," she responded warmly, embracing me. Her scent enveloped me, and I was momentarily lost in the fragrance.

Someone cleared their throat, drawing everyones attention. I looked up to see a man in his early fifties, fair-skinned with distinctive sideburns. He looked vaguely familiar. He walked down and sat next to Ammi. I assumed he was Abul.

"Noor, meet Khadija Afrah, your daughter in-law ," Ammi introduced.

I bowed my head in greeting, and he answered with a smile.

"My daughter, you're welcome to our family. Where's Naseeru and Zarah?"

"Abul, Uncle N is on his way and Zara is..." Zuhra started to explain.

"Fatimatul Zara is here!" someone announced from the door, and I turned to see Zara entering.

I stood up, "Zarah?"
My own Zara.

She dropped her bags and ran towards me. "Laa, Afrah. How did you know I came back? I wanted to surprise you."

I couldn't contain my surprise. "Don't tell me you're..."

Before I could finish my sentence, Ammi cut in,
"do you know each other ?"

Zara nodded, "Yes, Ammi. She's the Afrah I've been telling you about, the friend I met in school."

As we engaged in conversation, a deep, husky voice broke the moment. My heart raced.

"Assalamu alaikum" and I silently prayed it wouldn't be him.

"Yauwa, Naseeru, come in," Ammi called.

I was sitting up straight, flanked by Zara and Zuhra, and couldn't see his face properly. My heart raced as I hoped it wouldn't be him again and again.

"Afrah, you're squeezing my hands. Are you okay?" Zara whispered, and I quickly released her hands, offering a smile.

I waited anxiously as the man finally entered. "Ammonia Good afternoon , Abul Good afternoon," he said, his voice sending a shiver down my spine.

I slowly looked up to meet his hazel eyes, finding myself face to face with the person I had been dreading to meet. He was astonishingly tall, with dark hair and a well-groomed beard, and his scent was tantalizing.

It was a shock to realize that I was married to him, and questions swirled in my mind. How? When? My heart raced, and my head spun as I struggled to come to terms with this sudden revelation.

"You!!!" He exclaimed, and our eyes locked, leaving me in a whirlwind of emotions and confusion.
