Raised in the arms
Of a warmth
No one could replicate
I was left wandering
For another home
Like a refugee
After a storm
Clinging onto fading love
That someday
I could be understood
No pity
Just strength would embrace me
The way my friends do now.
Another update? Consider it a little treat of mine for celebrating 50+ poems in this collection.
Also: this is unofficially part 3 of 'cement' (part 2 is 'road'). Someday I'll have to figure out a color-coding system or have the poems divided into sections based on which character it's by; it'll be less confusing to you. Or do you like the way it is?
And um yeah, if you haven't read the blurb, this collection is made by 4 different fictional people. Brownie points if you manage to (loosely) piece together who's who.
:)
