My feet stumbled as I stood up again, my claws trying to dig into the tiled floor for balance. I rushed over to Chirp, my heart pounding. I knew he would understand me, he was kind enough, right?

What if he isn't? I thought. I tried to push that thought away but it wouldn't go.

When I reached Chirp I nudged his head with my nose. He woke up and moved his head to face me.

"What is it Sunny?" Chirp asked tiredly.

"Did you feel that rumble too?" I nervously asked. Chirp looked at me, calming down.

"Calm down, tell me what happened." he said, in a more reassuring voice. Maybe he did care.

"First I got up to go find a blanket, then when I found a blanket there was a rumble, like an earthquake." I said, Chirp nodded, "I thought nothing of it then there was another one but worse then another one also worse." I said in one breath.

"It sounds to me like you had a nightmare, I'm sorry. I wish I could do something to help." Chirp said in a previously calming, now condescending voice.

     "But-"

"No buts, go back to sleep, I promise you it won't happen again. Now go, sleep is a virtue in this house."

I walked away from his bed, the rumbles now gone. It must've just been my imagination. I walked back to my makeshift bed and laid down. I curled up, my tail next to my face, but I couldn't sleep. No matter how hard I tried. Every time I closed my eyes, the shaking and sheer panic I faced loomed in my head. Like something didn't want me to forget it. Or someone, but that was a stretch.

Whatever happened, it was in the past now. If it ever happens again, I know to not tell Chirp, because he's not going to help.
